As far back as 1975 corporate insiders were aware of potential risks. They called #paraquat’s long-term effects "a quite terrible problem” (Nov 11, 1975 ltr to #Chevron Environmental Health,, Standard Oil of California.)
Over 70 countries banned paraquat; it remains legal in US. #EnvironmentalProtectionAgency banned use on #golf courses but allows on crops.
Most US paraquat comes from China & UK—both banned paraquat’s use in their countries.

County of Monterey Board of Supervisors unanimously approved an update to its 2017 Welcoming Resolution. Other steps the county is taking include but are not limited to: Distributing 20,000 Constitutional Rights for Immigrant Education (“red cards”) in Spanish and English; creating Know Your Rights informational videos in English, Spanish, Triqui, and Mixteco; co-hosting community immigration forums on Know Your Rights; and more.
Why? Monterey County, “Salad Bowl of the Nation” / “Salad Bowl of the World,” is preparing for the new U.S. president, POTUS 47, to take office.

Local public library’s seed library is happening again. We also exchange seeds with a neighbor. When we do need to buy seeds, we love what has become our favorite seed company: Sow True Seed. And today we received their 2025 seed catalog.
