licenses might not be enough, but at least one could use a stronger copyleft license like #GPL, which protects against more types of #enshittification than weaker permissive licenses. Which is why those #bigtech companies are scared to use them.

the inverse square law doesn't really apply to focused beams though. Of course it can't be focused perfectly and there will be losses, also due to atmosphere etc., but not necessarily scaling with 1/r^2.

other question: will GNU/Linux operating systems ever be dominant in consumer desktop computers? If so, would it be just some abomination with non-free binary blobs that's not much better than Windows?
