Even my bumpkin supermarkets have started getting very decent international isles, so it’s nice to see more accommodation for “strange" ingredients. Most of the folks around me think black pepper is too spicy. 😅

Yeah, White miso paste has been a surprising ingredient for me this year. I bought it thinking I'd use it to make quick soups, but turned out it's a much better seasoning for vegetables and tofu.

I've been making this miso paste and soy sauce marinade over the last few weeks and it's been fantastic on many things.
- 2 tablespoons white miso paste
- 2 tablespoons of low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon (or more) of water (thin or thicken for use case)
- 1 teaspoon ginger paste
- 1 teaspoon garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- season with whatever you like (pepper, chilli flakes, etc.)
Let this stuff marinate on chicken, cauliflower, tofue, etc.

Trying out #postgrest with #csharp and the #supabase client. This might be a nice "quick and easy" way to spin up demo APIs for workshops or tutorials around #aspnetcore.
All runs locally off of #postgres #database. Pretty neat stuff for #dotnet devs.

TIL that #aspnetcore has an "opt-out" syntax for TagHelpers. You can disable all tag helpers from processing the HTML element by using an "!" in the #HTML markup"
See the example below. This is why it's always good to scour the documentation.

I was recently playing around with the Span APIs and was curious to compare the memory usage between the traditional String APIs and using ReadOnlySpan<char>. This is a simple example of a tight loop.
Most of the memory usage comes from, unsurprisingly, string.Split which creates new string instances.
You can significantly reduce memory pressure in places where you need to inspect values rather than create new instances of them.

I forget if this has an impact on nullability checks, but their may be attributes that decorate the generic definition to denote known types (types that will be used a generic argument).

I meant you could use generics via reflection at runtime to create types on the fly, so null values are typically determined at the "run time" of the app.

nullability checks are a compile-time check for tooling rather than a hard truth. It just stops you from compiling potentially incorrect code. These safe guards don't make it to runtime, so there are no guarantees.
It's weird. How .NET operates, it's better to be defensive about reference types in general, even if you're using the nullability features.

I think you also need to remember nullability is a compile-time feature and generics are a runtime feature. They operate on different planes of existence. 😅

By changing the `double` to an `int` parse, it fixes the issue you're talking about, because it treats every "decimal part" as a unique string. 😅

I came up with this numeric comparer for #csharp. So far the output looks good, but I'm not sure about all the edge cases. 😅
The only one I can "see," which is not technically incorrect, is that Windows XP gets pushed to the end.
