Risk, sofia, is the cost of a bad thing happening, multiplied by the probability of the bad thing happening. The cost of a false positive is high but not infinite. The cost of a death by failing to capture a serial killer is also high.
The world is full of imperfect information, and the job of an intellectual is to weigh probabilities against each other based on evidence. If you have an eyewitness that someone committed a crime, you have evidence that updates the probability that they did it. It's not perfect evidence, but we can now start doing actuarial math. We can investigate the witness and ask "what's the probability that this person would lie?" and "what's the probability that this person could be mistaken in their observations?"
For what it's worth, because there is still a possibility of a false positive, I am unwilling to support things like a death penalty. And I do think trials are needed to be able to investigate witnesses, so that if someone may have reasonable doubt of the witness' credibility, they may choose to reject them. But we can't throw away the idea of witness testimony entirely. Especially when we consider that other forms of evidence are now equally showing flaws. Consider that security cameras may have the same problems as first person witnesses in a world with slightly more advanced AI-generated videos. DNA evidence may also have flaws, and fingerprints are notoriously bad because they're not as unique as people think.
Everything is imperfect information. There are no 0 or 1 probabilities.

If the murder is isolated, then perhaps you may consider any number of false negatives to be relatively tolerable. After all, it is very important that we not punish the innocent.
Consider, however, the addition that the murder is part of a string of related murders. That the problem being solved is that of a serial killer. And the only way you can prevent future murders is to rely on eyewitness testimony. I won't say witnesses are the best form of evidence -- there are flaws to them -- but worthless? You can do a risk assessment comparing the likelihood of them telling the truth vs the cost of a false negative and the cost of a false positive.

Because I am when I see it in everyone's profiles. It's not something you can just straight copy. The problem is that Sharkey sees an `@` character and wants to autocomplete a link to someone's fediverse profile.
But Sharkey supports markdown. And you can tell the formatting to fuck off by putting it in code tags. Specifically use the ` (backtick) character.
And then just make things look like `@username:YourMatrixInstance`

It's a vertical tabs extension that allows tabs to be put into tab groups. So if I had say 30 tabs, I could make it look like I have 5 tabs on my sidebar, and on about of those tabs I could click on an arrow to make more tabs appear beneath it. Since tab groups can contain other tab groups, I can effectively form a tree structure with my tabs.

We fucked up when we decided cross platform application development should use electron or a web view instead of something like Qt or Gtk. Even if you hate those specific libraries, the idea should still be to use a native library that just translates its own API calls to whatever native equivalent exists on your OS.
