i think @npub12ks…yw4y was right, it wont be a civil war as that implies branches of civil government in armed struggle. More than likely it'll be some form of militarised crackdown with an insurgency resisting.
Realistically that detail is by-the-by, the angling is clear for the insurrection act, and some form of armed crackdown on civil liberties will likely follow. Perhaps a war in greenland to keep powerful members of the armed forces busy while this is ongoing, with a view to the trump dynasty fleeing to Qatar in the event things look dire.

It appears America is at the "Just shoot anyone in your way" stage of fascism.
In a few months or so the industrialised killing will begin in earnest as troops grow weary of shooting the innocent. A method of separating the act of killing from the feeling of killing will be found. I wager it'll involve some form of drone, perhaps armed ground robots or somesuch.
Either way, violent resistance now is the only way to stop it, assuming it can be stopped.

Forget post war labour, its a pipe dream.
If you seriously want a socialist movement with some teeth in Britain we need to return to 1910s organising strategies.
- As many unions as possible
- formation of workers councils at the lowest levels possible
- solidarity amongst unionised workers
- communities built offline and in-person
- support for the unemployed
If we make that happen we can have a powerful labour movement that can achieve things like post-war labour.

ve warned, public transport through brecon is highly unreliable. It will take probably 1.5hrs on the bus from Cardiff to the base of Pen-y-Fan (the storey arms) and the sane going back. If you can go any other way then that would be better. (Maybe go to Merthyr Tydfil on train and get a taxi? I can't tell you how expensive that would be though)

go for Pen-y-Fan, it's closer, a bit easier to get to by car and has some excellent views of the whole mountain range. If you still have legs after you can walk the black mountains after or go to one of the nearby reservoirs for some lowland walking. There is also more places to camp around too

I've been reconnecting a bit with this side of the family recently, writing has helped me process this.
I was often called 'gypo' and 'pikey' as a kid, both pejoratives for romani. Processing these, where we're at in the world politically and how the far right is taking over again have me really thinking about how horrific this is. Just thinking of "6 million jews" makes it seem so small. The true scale is horrific. The abive post didn't even account for Soviet PoWs who accounted for about 20% of the people killed.

For those interested in more info about the Porrajmos (Shoah or Holocaust) and some historical context to what you might or might not know about the "6 million" figure thrown around a lot.
6 million is specifically in reference to the jewish numbers murdered. This number is an estimate and mostly is drawn from recovered paperwork relating to the murders. The Nazis were prolific in their burning of documents and so the true number is estimated to be much much higher. Perhaps even as high as 10 million.
In regards to Roma, it is estimated that 75% of Roma in occupied territories were taken. Adolf Eichman, head of the SS admitted to taking "at least 500, 000" Due to Romani being the test group for the Porrajmos records were not made initially to account for numbers, and the suggestion from Roma historians is the number taken was closer to 1 million. This number, as with the Jewish population, does not account for people shot and killed during blitzkrieg, or people killed resisting. The Romani were already being worked to death in work camps before the nazis even came to power in German states like Bavaria. It is believed these Romani have never been counted towards numbers of dead, potentially pushing the number of killed roma well above 1 million.
Romani call the Holocaust 'The Porrajmos' because the state literally decimated our numbers in such a way that we 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 recovered. Even now in Bavaria it is estimated that Romani numbers are only in the triple digits. Romani still experience extreme prejudice in Germany today, as with much or Europe.
My Grandfather was a rom born in the UK in the 40s as his mother joined a circus to escape Europe and the ever-growing hostility they felt. His father stayed behind, and he never met him as a result. His life, for much of my fathers life, consisted of bouncing from town-to-town and working small construction jobs before being shooed away as an unwanted vagrant. He died in relative poverty and rarely saw his children. This is a story common in the UK, both the escaping fascism and the family disconnect due to poverty and social stigma.

In times like this, I find great comfort in the words of Kwame Nkrumahs book Revolutionary Warfare, wherein he describes how colonial powers, neo-colonialism operates, and how the tactics of this play out in real life are scary accurate.
"If a member of a group which is absolutely opposed to imperialism is in control of the state and party, attempts are made to organise:
Either
1. Assassination or a coup d'état or "palace revolution" which will permit political power to fall into the lap of the rival but pro-imperialist group.
Or
2. A decentralisation of political power within the ruling party, one group being strong in the state machinery, the other strong in the party machine."
Personally I see this rule applicable to any of the big wars going on since 2003

The state is far harsher on Anarchists than it is on Marxists, this should be evident by the amount of acceptance popular marxist based movements have in wider society. In Britain there is the SWP, CPB and CPBML, all of which have marxism at their core, albeit with different levels of popularity and different philosophies. The state is wary of them, but they exist, are not over-policed and are often heavily surveilled and infiltrated to weed out na'er-do-wells and troublemakers.
Anarchist movements are always disbanded by the police through systemic infiltration, surveillance and targeted raids. This is because while their over-arching goal is not dissimilar to ML parties, the anarchist seeks to dismember the state at large and to dissolve the reigns of power which marxists seek to control. Ultimately, marxist parties are a containment of radical thought set to dismantle ambitious revolutionary activity at the core, whereas revolutionaries avoiding vanguard parties are considered the ultimate threat to the state.
