I sometimes feel hope and at other times I simply do my best.

My youngsters and young friends and the kind folks whom I follow on the internet are granting me opportunities to continue learning. I learn to remain humble and I do try each time to remember to voice my thanks to each of these teachers.

That is a bee and she is covered in pollen and she is wearing collected pollen at her hind legs. She looks like the carniolian bees we used to keep, but could be one of the lighter colored variety.

The image reminds me of a California black bear, because those come in fur colors including black and brown and shades in between. It looks fuzzier than what I remember, but the shape is like the California bears.

Seeing pictures of Summer brought peace to my mind when our mixed breed Rhodesian-Ridgeback dog, Sam, did not survive this year. I see your Summer doesn't share the intensity of multi-directional fur as our Sam, but the love in her face, those feet, and same hair color as Sam. Maybe our Sam had some retriever in his ancestry.

That article about harmful nesting materials does make sense to me, yes. No, I'm not a bee guy, however I did take some night classes and our family did have bee hives a few years ago. The bees set foot wherever they go to get their pollen or food in the wide world, and are exposed to a world of harms. Mites can ride on the legs or fuzz and then drop off when the bee returns home only to crawl onto soft eggs and larvae to harm the young bees. Illness can be contracted from sick bees or contaminated places. I wasn't sure how chalkbrood starts, but I remember in class the beekeepers showed us examples of their hives lost to illness and the contaminated frames and empty hive could not be reused. The honeybees reuse their own wax and someone at a local college analyzed wax from year to year and found some pesticides one year and additional pesticides each year. Those bees step in it and of course they chew the wax to shape the honeycomb and if your bees chew something other than wax then, also, you want their living environment to be as clean as nature is supposed to be.

It wasn't the gluten bothering me during intensely stressful years, but until I sorted things out, it was grains including rice, millet, quinoa, spelt, and wheat giving me digestive trouble. Buckwheat and barley and corn-masa-harina were alright, but stress and whatever else messed up my gut-biome until I remembered to make and eat naturally fermented foods same as in my younger days: Chinese style salt-pickled vegetable roots, kimchi or sauerkraut, fresh yogurt, and fresh beer or other fermented beverage. Now, my digestive problems are managed with those as occasional condiments and remembering to drink a glassful of water with each meal.

However, in the event of a U.S. federal government shutdown, federal employees will either be non-essential on furlough without pay or essential and required to work without any sick leave and without any holiday leave and without any annual leave and without paychecks until a budget is approved. I'm so very glad that I'm retired now. Ha ha on any of those ICE agents working without pay.

Advil/ibuprofen is another that no longer does anything for me. It used to numb the surface of my skin, especially my face, but after catching chickenpox at age 44 and using Advil for its side-effect, it no longer even stops itchy skin for me. Nope, all I get of any use is spicy food, mint tea, ice packs, or meditation unless a dentist or other doctor administers something.

it has been my happy experience to learn that large quantities of chiles in various cuisines cause all the muscles along my back to totally relax and any muscle pain to dissolve in gustatory bliss and relaxation. I'm told it is visible on my face as I relax. I'm also told that normal people don't eat the dried chile pods in Kung Pao Chicken.

it'd be interesting to know if I'm not the only autistic who gets no relief of pain by taking Tylenol. Oh, and no, my mother didn't take Tylenol before I was born.

I'm not a talented maker-seller of things and in current times I prefer to shop from small businesses of good people. I am saving bookmarks of websites mentioned in the profiles of some people who post here, so that I can order goods from real people after I save up the spending money to do so. You are one of the people I want to buy from, but my pension only covers so much just now. Another name I follow might have more useful ideas than I have. Their posts are not the same as advertising handicrafts, while also alerting me to maker-seller artisans of handicrafts. I also follow,

I didn't want to buy a birdbath because I didn't want to worry about thirsty honeybees accidentally drowning in it. I put an old abalone shell, shiny side up, on the soil of some potted plants outside the back door. I add water daily and some little birds drink from it. I was very glad to see a bee, not sure which kind of bee, a bee startled into flight last week as I added more water. Slowly I am learning to do #gardening while caring about #Bees

The old straight-pins of my grandmother's day weren't stainless steel. I have seen rusty pins and needles. The common tomato shaped pin cushion was mostly filled with something similar to extremely tightly packed sawdust or ground-up nut shells, but the green string tied around it for tomato shape was also attached to a smaller strawberry shape which contained emery powder. When a pin or needle was looking worse for wear or getting rusty, poking it in and drawing it back out from that emery strawberry shined it up again for safely storing in the tomato cushion. I feel old today, why is that?

Understood, yes, it is a good use of that claylike product. I didn't buy Femo or its competitor's clays after the children grew and moved out, but you are clever and you are right to take something like that and give it a wanted useful place to do a job and look lovely at the same time. I have seen those clays in color including metalic colors. Thank you, now I can look at it as a repair item. Up to now, I would see it and it would trigger only a memory of the toxic fume smell from baking handcrafted tops as seed markers onto worn bamboo chopsticks for marking seeds planted into a long ago garden. You've replaced a bad memory with this clever planter repair you did. Thank you.

If this is the void then the void seems to me as a bustling busy place where I have met interesting or intelligent or silly or kind texted voices, or interesting and intelligent and silly and kind texted voices. Maybe my perception differs because I am not seeking reactions to my own words and I am instead seeking only interesting thoughts from this void.

Those blossoms are lovely. Thank you for sharing your pictures, flowers and Summer and all. I share some of Summer when I text our kids, who have moved away and left their Sam with us. Sam is about twelve by now. Your posts share joy.

My fake cheese recipes.
Measurement is to taste, but I use USA cooking measures in my notes.
1 cup ground almonds, strained from nut milk or use almond-flour
1 teaspoon tahini, or use miso or some soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon of salt or less
1/2 teaspoon of dry oregano
1/2 teaspoon of ground chili pepper, mild or otherwise
1/2 teaspoon of nutritional yeast which is also called brewer's yeast, this is the spent yeast from brewers and not the same as bread yeast
1/2 teaspoon powdered dry garlic
1/4 teaspoon powdered cream of tartar or the juice of a lime or a pinch of citric salt
then stir in enough water to make it into the shape of a cheese ball. Chill. I use this up within three days because I don't want to risk it expiring.
FAKE CHEESE POWDER:
3 Tablespoons or soup spoons of Nutritional yeast flakes or powder,
1/2 teaspoon each of powdered: garlic, cumin, chili or smoked paprika, onion, salt, and
1/4 teaspoon Cream of Tartar or 1/8 teaspoon sour-salt citric acid.

Thanks, these look like recipes I'll be using! Where you mention you did not have vegetarian cheese substitutions available, maybe you would like the results from some experiments of mine. I soaked a cupful of almonds in water overnight and blended that into almond-milk then I used the strained grainy nutmeat leftovers with seasonings. It is not exactly the same as cream cheese, but it tastes good as a spread and the seasonings themselves are not the same as Parmesan grated cheese, but taste good on a tortilla with beans.

Your question is fair and the answers seem good, but an answer might change if your water source is changed. If something in your water is bad then distillation of the water might be the only way you can remove what is bad. If you use distilled water then you might need to do the same thing big breweries do and add in the minerals your water would have had if not distilled. You'd do that to provide for the plant's dietary needs, breweries do it to provide for the yeast's needs and flavor results.

Oh, lovely! Also, I'm glad to be able to share my own story about baking powder lessons! Once upon a time, my youngest phoned me from the kitchen while I was at work. She worriedly asked, are we out of baking powder? I happily replied: "we have the ingredients!" Poor kid, certain mommy was overworked and confused, she reminded me, "baking powder is an ingredient!" Well, yes, but I made sure we always had the ingredients we would need for two-part baking-powder. She still thought something was nutty about me, but she measured out the equal amounts of: Baking Soda, Cornstarch, and Cream-of-Tartar. She mixed them together and measured out the powder just like baking powder and when I got home from work there were yummy cupcakes. I'm so glad that I used to read cookbooks during school visits to the library!!

Poor pup might like something I did with leftovers? I cooked some beef in chicken broth until I had shredded meat for assorted recipes, but I put the last scraped meat pieces into an old ice cube tray for later. I thought I might use them when a recipe needed "something." We had some hot weather this year, and our two old dogs were thrilled the day we gave them frozen meat treats.

I sorted out our decorations last year and texted pictures to our kids as I dug into the boxes. Texting made it feel like they weren't so far away and I know I couldn't sort their boxes without help. They have decorations, now; we still have some fun seasonal decorations. Some things were not nice enough to give away, recycled or tossed. You could similarly sort then put your sorted remainder altogether for your teaching friend to take. Explain family called dibs on the rest.

That's a beautiful flower, thank you for sharing. I seem to attract coincidences, just a moment ago I was texting to a friend that I should exercise more and then you mention an exercise bike and now I believe the universe is confirming that I should probably go for a walk!
Good morning and take care of yourself.

That is a lovely rose picture; thank you, I'd been thinking of roses! I should mention to you that I've been sharing some of your pictures and stories of your dear pup Summer. My eldest and I enjoy cheering for your dog's adventures. Thank you for being such a dear person, and for sharing posts of daily events with us strangers. Peace, love, and all good thoughts to you and yours on this day.
