My second son was born at home 3 weeks ago.
When we had our first we decided to go to a birth center. My wife was understandably too intimidated to just go for a home birth on her first go at giving birth, especially since we don’t live anywhere near a hospital if complications came up. We had a great experience there and my wife handled natural birth like a champ.
Home birth was truly something else though. Really don’t know if there’s a way to describe it? I’ll just say 10/10 would recommend and my wife is a SAVAGE.
Very thankful. All glory to God!

Happened again. I noticed I couldn’t follow more than 130 npubs using Primal. Logged into Damus, dropped back to 42 npubs, couldn’t follow anymore on Damus. Logged out of Damus, logged in on Primal, was able to follow one npub and now I’m stuck at 43 on both Damus and Primal after logging in and out several times 🤷‍♂️

Thanks Maria. My wife and I were friends in high school and I was already drinking more than your average party kid back then. After high school I joined the army and we went our separate ways. Luckily she didn’t come back into the picture until I had been sober for a year and a half. I think it’s a big reason why she took me seriously and I was able to land her. She’s very proud and I’m thankful she never had to see me at my worst.

Hey congratulations! 3 weeks is huge! In my experience the first few weeks were the hardest. After a couple months it got easier and easier. Then after a year going back to it seemed unimaginable because life had gotten so much better. Keep going!

I’ve noticed that the time of day I post has a pretty big impact on how much engagement my posts get. There’s no algorithm so if you post during a time when people aren’t actively scrolling, your post will probably never be seen. Being on the west coast I’ve noticed if I post after 8pm pacific time that post will probably get zero engagement since most of the country is sleeping. Might be worth experimenting with 🤷‍♂️

I haven’t been there in 20 years but 2022 data says it’s one of the worst cities in the state when it comes to homeless population. There’s some really beautiful country out here in California but most of the cities are trashed. If you want to vacation in a city I’d honestly pick a different state. If you’re interested in more of a nature oriented vacation there’s plenty of destinations though.

A line clearance crew hooked us up with two truck loads of wood chips a couple days ago. I’m looking forward to getting as much of the farm mulched as I can over this four day weekend. It’s going to be a lot of work but it should save me a lot of time come spring when time is the most scarce.

Reorganized my “90% bags” this morning. The bigger bag has what I use 90% of the time when installing or modernizing elevators and lives on my cart daily. The smaller bag is my trouble call bag, I can get a broken down elevator back up and running with it 90% of the time. The stuff I use for the other 10% fills up a Dodge 5500 with an 11ft service bed.

Unless you are towing a camping trailer or have large kids that would be too cramped in the back seat of a smaller pickup, I would say a Toyota Tacoma. Toyotas might be an exception to the ashtray rule, even the new ones are reliable and cheap to maintain

Depends on what kind of job the truck is going to have. Personally I think a good rule of thumb is if it doesn’t have an ashtray it’s too new. If you’re buying something with ashtrays you probably don’t need to spend 20k unless it’s a highly sought after, well preserved truck.

7 years off the booze today.
If you can drink like a normal person that’s cool, I can’t. Without going into too much detail, I had 3 major life events happen all within 3 weeks of each other that made it abundantly clear I was on a path to destroy my life if I continued to drink.
While it really sucked at the time, I’m very grateful things went down the way they did. If those 3 events happened say within a 3 year span instead of 3 weeks, I doubt I would have came to my senses.
I don’t credit myself much for my sobriety, of course it takes will power and discipline but those are gifts from God. Also, my dad, a recovering alcoholic who has been sober since he found out my mom was pregnant with me has been a huge support on this journey.
If your drinking causes any issues in your life I encourage you to give it up, it’s doable and worth it. 7 years ago I never could have imagined my life would look like it does today. I hope no one takes this as judgement. If you have a healthy relationship with alcohol, carry on. I envy you a little bit.

I bought this frame because I came across it for cheap, it was the right size, and I thought it was a cool *imported* bike. Little did I know that French bike companies didn’t follow cycling standards back then and made their own sizes for things like seatposts, bottom brackets, and headsets 😵‍💫 It made piecing the bike together a little more challenging. Definitely would have been better off just buying a complete bike but in the end I’m happy with how it turned out, and its *my* bike 🤷‍♂️

I jumped to no conclusions. I asked you a series of legitimate questions and said it SOUNDS like you’re speaking from ignorance. Your conclusion that Fr. Seraphim Rose IS speaking from ignorance sounded ignorant so I asked questions. You’ve read a bit, a bit of what? Which of his books? Did you know that he was an actual student of Watts at the American Academy of Asian Studies? Did you know he helped translate the Tao Te Ching into English? Tell me, how was he speaking from ignorance?
