Exactly how do you think Labour should have reversed #Brexit & got the #UK to join the #EU again in essentially a 3 month time period?
Please note, a country first has to be aligned with all EU conditions which could take an unknown number of years. Also, the average time from membership application to acceptance is 10 years.

The great con of #Brexit was #Farage convincing a nation that ending freedom of movement would stop them having to live next door to anyone from Eastern #Europe, as well as Black & Brown people. None of this happened.
If anything, the #UK lost millions from northern & central Europe, to be replaced by migrants from #Africa & #Asia. Businesses who relied of cheap seasonal minimum wages EU workers collapsed overnight, hence the floodgates opening to the southern hemisphere.

There's time yet. I honestly feel #Labour's first steps will be a warming of #EU relations, then sorting out the economic mess the #Tories left behind, then to concentrate on re-election, AND THEN resolving #Brexit.
Over the next 5 years, Labour must first decouple #Immigration from freedom of movement. Without immigration being pushed front & centre of the #UK's relationship with #Europe by #Farage, our EU membership would've remained a lunatic fringe issue.

This is the issue. #Putin fears an escalation of war with #NATO, BUT NATO also fears an escalation of war with #Russia which could go nuclear.
This will be a case of who blinks first & personally I think it's beyond time that Europe 100% fully backs #Ukraine with troops & calls Putin's bluff.

Regardless of what we've heard publicly, I believe a lot more has been said & done behind closed doors. If the #EU were to militarily support #Ukraine & make it clear to Russia the fight is on if they so choose, this will marginalise #Putin & #Trump.

The #EU isn't perfect, but let's NOT throw the baby out with the bath water. There are competing views in the institution, with every country advocating for what it sees best for itself.
In terms of how situations change minds, I draw your attention to Sweden & Finland joining NATO. Why now after all these years? Their situations changed with #Russia's invasion of #Ukraine, hence so did their security priorities.
Like I said, necessity is the mother of all invention.
