@nprofile…4jyh Ondertussen heb ik delta.chat ontdekt. Geniaal. In plaats van het SMS-protocol repareren het e-mail protocol gebruiken om chat daar bovenop te bouwen. Werkt in principe al via gewone mailservers en gewone mailadressen. Maar nog beter bij speciale servers en een apart e-mailadres voor dergelijke boodschappen.
Heb het al getest en het werkt goed. Nota bene met een bevriende BNR-journalist.

@nprofile…4jyh Vergt een journalist om uit te zoeken hoe het nu zit want er is weinig over te vinden. Er moeten telefoontjes met experts worden gemaakt vrees ik.

@nprofile…4jyh Ik hoop dat we snel die upgrade van het SMS-protocol krijgen waardoor SMS alle features krijgt die we van Whatsapp en Signal gewend zijn. Al jaren niks meer over gehoord, maar urgenter dan ooit.
Waarschijnlijk omdat er geen grote nationale telecombedrijven meer bestaan met technici op dat niveau. Het zijn voornamelijk marketingbedrijven geworden.

Ik gebruik het om bepaalde accounts te volgen waarvan ik geen enkele posting wil missen. De RSS-reader is overzichtelijker wat dat betreft.

@nprofile…ut8x zo menselijk die fout. Veel minder erg dan een geautomatiseerde. Die schalen heel snel op terwijl men tegelijkertijd minder twijfelt omdat het geautomatiseerd is. Is een extra argument voor het papieren proces.

@nprofile…t4l2 This reminds me of my (only) visit to a 'big box' store near Amsterdam this year.
I rented a car to get mousetraps because they were sold out in all local shops. It would be 20 minutes by bike and it was half an hour before closing time.
The parking lot is on the ground floor, the box is build on top of it. Solid concrete structures, it will probably stay there for many decades.
I didn't stay long because the rented car is cheaper if you return it quickly.

Tree roots are pushing up bicycle lanes in Amsterdam (also elsewhere?).
Please think with me. Could it be a solution to lay an iron mat over the tree roots composed of a grid filled with short vertical bamboo stems, which are then periodically horizontally cut?
The stems are pierced with iron wire to prevent them from sinking down were there are no roots.
Bicyclists then always have a perfectly level surface to drive on. Just a short bump, but very gradual. The tree can grow and gets rain.

I demonstrated that the clutter of bicycles on the pavement made it difficult to pass while many pedestrians go to the supermarket through that spot. In combination with increased bicycle ownership.

I quickly got an e-mail from the civil servant dealing with this. Although I do not exclude the possibility that he did a web search on my name and then realised I was extremely well connected to everything about this topic. And probably one handshake away from him.

In my case, a nearby GOW street had little space for bikes but many addresses. So people would park just round the corner in my street.
The 'fietsvlonder’ was first used in de Kinkerstraat and just became available to be used somewhere else.

@nprofile…g8y8 Have never seen them with Arizona plates. They do have the too small size license plate but you can have your Dutch license printed on them https://www.kentekenplatenamsterdam.nl/kentekenplatenoverzicht/amerikaans-model-kentekenplaat/
Allowed as an exception because the car does not have space for the larger Dutch ones. The car model should have “kentekenplaat model 18.2 toegestaan” in the RDW database.
