Don't buy the “domain + e-mail” subscription from #Strato.de:
➡️ They disallow you to use their mail server (which you pay for!) if you choose to use a third-party name server.
➡️ Also, you can't set a custom TTL for your DNS records (at least I found no such option).
➡️ Recently, their customer login was unavailable for hours (so it was impossible to modify any DNS settings).

That “burden of migration” you're rightly complaining about is the exact lock-in effect that the whole #GiveUpGithub discussion is centred around! Migrating issues and PRs isn't a hassle because @npub1fh7…ee83 is shit, but because GitHub try their very best to add as much friction as necessary to stop you from leaving.
Forgejo (the platform powering Codeberg) is actively working on federation, i.e. the diametric opposite to lock-in.
If you can't bother to use privacy-respecting open-source tools, why do you develop a privacy-respecting open-source app in the first place?

If the termination is legal in the first place, then Ubisoft have every right* to further require you to uninstall their products. That's because you need the author's permission to store a copyright-protected piece of software. Otherwise, you're infringing their copyright.
(Only thanks to this legal situation can the AGPL's network-use clause be enforced.)

Blocking IP addresses of LLM scrapers is not only largely no use but can even be detrimental, because they often use residential IPs which they get from greedy developers importing shady libraries in their apps. 🤷

For me, even https://yunohost.org/ results in 404. Maybe they're blocking users whom they suspect of being bots and wrongly respond with 404 to them instead of with 403.

Creating an inbox rule to automatically put spam e-mails that match a specific pattern into the spam folder doesn't prevent such spam e-mails from reaching me. I would prefer if e-mails matching my spam filter were outright rejected by the server with an error like “address doesn't exist”.

Due to the parties’ political colours, the government was frequently referred to as the “traffic-light coalition” (🚦 for cars, those for 🚶 lack yellow).
The FDP transport minister did little to improve traffic for 🚲🚶 🚍 🚈 🚇 🚄 🚆 and was focussed on car-first projects. (@npub1z7x…q5jf would have been dissatisfied.)
That's why, after the FDP was kicked out of the coalition, Germans are now joking that “🔴🟢 is still a traffic light – just not for cars!”

Yesterday, 3 quarters in to the government term, the 🇩🇪 coalition of 3 parties – Social Democrats (SPD), Greens and Capitalists (FDP) – broke apart.
FDP finance minister had told SPD and Greens that major cuts in social benefits and reversals from decarbonisation are necessary. Chancellor Scholz (SPD) fired him for breaking with the coalition contract.
“Too often he blocked legislation in an irrational manner. Too often he engaged in petty partisan tactics. Too often he betrayed my trust.”

The firmware upgrade itself went fine, only restoring the backup (both automatically during the upgrade process and, after resetting, by manually uploading the archive) resulted in those IPv4 issues. 😕

For me, there has never been an #OpenWrt firmware upgrade that didn't cause major headache & require hours of maintenance. Even some package updates broke the system in the past.
Today, I tried to update from 23.0.2 to 23.0.5 while preserving my settings, but this prevented the router from doing IPv4 at all. 🤡 Only thanks to SSH over IPv6 I could reset OpenWrt entirely to default and manually set up everything again. Couldn't bother to repair the wreck.
Not blaming anyone, I'm just frustrated.

You don't hate country-code top-level domains – you hate misuse of ccTLDs as generic TLDs. It's a shame that so many website owners only care about what sounds or looks cool, instead of considering what or whom their favourite TLDs were created for.
And, frankly, I'd consider the case of .io a small, symbolic gratification for the Îlois who were forcibly displaced from 1966 onwards. 🤷

Do you have any information on Cellebrite's ability to crack non-stock operating systems on non-Google phones, such as Lineage, Calyx, /e/OS, divest, Volla etc. on devices like Samsung, OnePlus, LG, Asus, Fairphone, Shiftphones and so on? I assume that they are vulnerable due to their lack of Verified Boot. 🤔 (Does the OS even matter on non-Google devices at all?)
