Honestly, these JetBrains promotions feel a bit like a sell-out. At the very least, could they be marked as sponsored posts, please? 🤔
I’m also unsure whether it’s even legal for a non-profit to promote a corporation like this without clear disclosure. Happy to hear others’ thoughts.

💭 A genuine question:
Should the PSF continue to sustain PyCon US directly?
It’s the flagship Python event, but it also seems to consume a large portion of PSF funds with limited benefit for the global community.
Wouldn’t it make more sense for PyCon US to rely more on external sponsorships and partnerships, instead of drawing so much from the PSF itself?
Also, how much support do regional PyCons receive by comparison?

Hey @npub17gp…nrxn! Reading this https://delta.chat/en/2025-05-22-browser-edition got me thinking. I live in Firefox but miss Chrome’s one-click “Install PWA as app”. What about a Tauri-based helper + a Firefox extension that wraps a PWA into a desktop app in one step? Hosting stays light: the PWA is cached; relays/self-hosted instances can serve the client. Keeps control with admins. Interested? 👍🏻

I've noticed recently that some organizations that have an account in Fediverse share their Bluesky account here. I wonder why they think this is relevant for us to know?
It looks like trying to convince people to ride a bus while they are comfortably riding one already.
