🚨 CRITICAL SECURITY ALERT — BTCPay Server Vulnerability
A critical vulnerability is being actively exploited in BTCPay Server that can result in loss of funds. Upgrade immediately.
Step 1 — Update BTCPay Server to v2.4.2
Admin Dashboard → Server → Maintenance → Update
Verify the 2.4.2 version string in the footer after updating.
If you cannot update right now, shut down your BTCPay Server to prevent unauthorized access until you can.
Step 2 — Rotate Lightning credentials
Ensure your backing node is running LND 0.21.1+, then:
• Destroy your macaroons and macaroons.db and recreate them fresh
• This applies to auth mechanisms for other LN backends too (not just LND)
Step 3 — Move hot wallet funds
If you generated a hot on-chain wallet inside BTCPay, move those funds to a secure wallet immediately.

Thanks for the suggestions. Dead nodes are periodically purged by Amboss, which supplies our data, but it’s a good idea to hide them from the list as well. Sort and better search are coming next.

Nodestrich will be completely transitioning off of Telegram this year. We don’t have a specific timeline yet, but the sooner the better.
It was our preference to use a Nostr-first group chat solution, but after three years, we haven’t found one with the reliability and feature set we need, so we’ll be migrating over to Signal for the next phase.

We started in early 2023 and there weren’t any Nostr-based options at the time to do real-time group messaging. We've discussed switching to an alternate system but moving an entire community isn’t easy, and need to make sure whatever we choose will stick around.
The Telegram group is optional, you can just be in the Amboss group if you want.
