Antisemitic, Islamophobic, self proclaimed Nazi Edward Jacob "Jake" Lang showed up with a very small group in Minneapolis today. They were vastly outnumbered by at least a few hundred antifascists chanting him down to the point his hate speech was not heard. After failing to make their way into a closed City Hall and getting stuck in window recess, they got chased out by hundreds of people.
His “crusade march” didn’t happen because of the community response, and he was unable to burn a Quran like he had planned.
His plate carrier was left behind after he escaped by running through a hotel and leaving out the back before jumping into a car. In multiple shots he appears to be covered in water, snow, and even had blood dripping down the back of his neck.

A Ribbit Rave is happening down at ICE in pdx where an inflatable “frog brigade” said they would be premiering a new dance. A group of folks interrupted, chanting “why are you dancing” and saying that ICE just murdered someone and CBP shot two people locally. “Why are you choreographing this bullshit while people are being kidnapped,” someone shouted.
Announcement was made right after that there is an autonomous zone led by Indigenous folks in our community happening now at city hall.

Last night at the ICE facility in Portland, OR, a man parked his semi truck near ICE, yelled at protesters, then ran back to his truck and grabbed a baseball bat and a fire extinguisher. He then started attacking everybody he could get his hands on with the bat and spraying the extinguisher at people. DHS came out shooting pepper balls as he continued assaulting multiple people. As expected, the Feds let him leave without issue, while they arrested someone who was defending people from this man’s violence.

This photo is from Joint Base Lewis-McChord surveillance footage of Levi Austin Frakes and Charles Ethan Fields, the two military veteran Nazis who robbed the military base and stole weapons and armor.
The FBI complaint alleges that they both stole equipment and assaulted a soldier on the Army special operations compound.
Prosecutors say Fields and Frakes entered the military base on Sunday evening through the main gate and made their way to a facility used by Charlie Company, 75th Ranger Regiment. The complaint said that the pair were scanned into the main gate of JBLM around 8pm Sunday and that they had allegedly used bolt cutters to break a lock into the Ranger compound.
"The pair allegedly stole military gear after bludgeoning a soldier with a hammer and fleeing the scene.... Before being attacked, the soldier, who was not identified in court documents, confronted the veterans, who were in the process of stealing tens of thousands of dollars worth of ballistic helmets, rifle plates and communications equipment. As the soldier was questioning the pair, ordering them to remove their masks, one of them attacked him, striking him in the head and torso with a hammer. The soldier fought off the attacker, taking the hammer, but "surrendered" as the other assailant was brandishing a knife."
The complaint says that the two of them stole $14,000 worth of gear, but dropped most of it while fleeing. In addition to much of what they stole, Fields left behind a hat that had his last name on it.
During the search of one of their homes, the CID seized 35 weapons, including rifles, pistols, short-barreled rifles, an MG32 machine gun and suppressors (some of which appeared to have been produced using a 3D printer), along with night vision equipment, body armor, flashbang grenades, smoke canisters and blasting caps.
“Images from the complaint also show Nazi and white supremacist paraphernalia in one of the residences, including flags with a swastika and "SS" lightning bolts, murals and literature "in every bedroom and near several stockpiles of weapons and military equipment."
During their interviews, one of the Nazis admitted to the investigators that he had been stealing from the compound for about two years.
Fields and Frakes’ registered company is billed as a "defense manufacturing and training" service which features nazi imagery on its website and socials, listed several military units as "clients," including the 75th Ranger Regiment, U.S. Army Special Forces, 1st Marine Division and the Coast Guard.

Portland for Palestine and all their other ghost groups they’ve created to funnel recruits to FRSO and grift is not a safe group to organize with and their events are unsafe. I cannot emphasize this enough.
A long time ago I posted something on here detailing some of the things they had done that endangered the community. Things have gotten much worse since.
Portland for Palestine/P4P is no longer the only group operating in Portland as FRSO under a different name. They are now operating under “SDS,” “Portland Contra las Deportaciones,” “Awan,” and “Portland for Palestine.”
Not only have these grifters endangered our community, but they are co-opting multiple struggles. First Palestine, now ICE and antifascism too.

My name is Mahmoud Khalil and I am a political prisoner. I am writing to you from a detention facility in Louisiana where I wake to cold mornings and spend long days bearing witness to the quiet injustices underway against a great many people precluded from the protections of the law.
Who has the right to have rights? It is certainly not the humans crowded into the cells here. It isn’t the
Senegalese man I met who has been deprived of his liberty for a year, his legal situation in limbo and his
family an ocean away. It isn’t the 21-year-old detainee I met, who stepped foot in this country at age nine, only to be deported without so much as a hearing.
Justice escapes the contours of this nation’s immigration facilities.
On March 8, I was taken by DHS agents who refused to provide a warrant, and accosted my wife and me as we returned from dinner. By now, the footage of that night has been made public. Before I knew what was happening, agents handcuffed and forced me into an unmarked car. At that moment, my only concern was for Noor’s safety. I had no idea if she would be taken too, since the agents had threatened to arrest her for not leaving my side. DHS would not tell me anything for hours — I did not know the cause of my arrest or if I was facing immediate deportation. At 26 Federal Plaza, I slept on the cold floor. In the early morning hours, agents transported me to another facility in Elizabeth, New Jersey. There, I slept on the ground and was refused a blanket despite my request.
My arrest was a direct consequence of exercising my right to free speech as I advocated for a free
Palestine and an end to the genocide in Gaza, which resumed in full force Monday night. With January’s
ceasefire now broken, parents in Gaza are once again cradling too-small shrouds, and families are forced to weigh starvation and displacement against bombs. It is our moral imperative to persist in the struggle for their complete freedom.
I was born in a Palestinian refugee camp in Syria to a family which has been displaced from their land
since the 1948 Nakba. I spent my youth in proximity to yet distant from my homeland. But being
Palestinian is an experience that transcends borders. I see in my circumstances similarities to Israel’s use of administrative detention — imprisonment without trial or charge — to strip Palestinians of their rights. I think of our friend Omar Khatib, who was incarcerated without charge or trial by Israel as he returned home from travel. I think of Gaza hospital director and pediatrician Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, who was taken captive by the Israeli military on December 27 and remains in an Israeli torture camp today. For Palestinians, imprisonment without due process is commonplace.
I have always believed that my duty is not only to liberate myself from the oppressor, but also to liberate my oppressors from their hatred and fear. My unjust detention is indicative of the anti-Palestinian racism that both the Biden and Trump administrations have demonstrated over the past 16 months as the U.S. has continued to supply Israel with weapons to kill Palestinians and prevented international intervention. For decades, anti-Palestinian racism has driven efforts to expand U.S. laws and practices that are used to violently repress Palestinians, Arab Americans, and other communities. That is precisely why I am being
targeted.
While I await legal decisions that hold the futures of my wife and child in the balance, those who enabled
my targeting remain comfortably at Columbia University. Presidents Shafik, Armstrong, and Dean
Yarhi-Milo laid the groundwork for the U.S. government to target me by arbitrarily disciplining
pro-Palestinian students and allowing viral doxing campaigns — based on racism and disinformation —
to go unchecked.
Columbia targeted me for my activism, creating a new authoritarian disciplinary office to bypass due
process and silence students criticizing Israel. Columbia surrendered to federal pressure by disclosing student records to Congress and yielding to the Trump administration's latest threats. My arrest, the expulsion or suspension of at least 22 Columbia students — some stripped of their B.A. degrees just weeks before graduation — and the expulsion of SWC President Grant Miner on the eve of contract negotiations, are clear examples.
If anything, my detention is a testament to the strength of the student movement in shifting public opinion toward Palestinian liberation. Students have long been at the forefront of change — leading the charge against the Vietnam War, standing on the frontlines of the civil rights movement, and driving the struggle against apartheid in South Africa. Today, too, even if the public has yet to fully grasp it, it is students who steer us toward truth and justice.
The Trump administration is targeting me as part of a broader strategy to suppress dissent. Visa-holders, green-card carriers, and citizens alike will all be targeted for their political beliefs. In the weeks ahead, students, advocates, and elected officials must unite to defend the right to protest for Palestine. At stake are not just our voices, but the fundamental civil liberties of all.
Knowing fully that this moment transcends my individual circumstances, I hope nonetheless to be free to witness the birth of my first-born child.

About a dozen cops showed up to the community free store again tonight. Before anyone had even arrived to set up, Jessie Burke, CEO and partner at The Society Hotel, was standing on the corner where folks usually set up with her husband speaking to a handful of police. Burke has a history of being hostile to the houseless community and those providing them resources. People ended up setting up just around the corner from where the free store typically is on Thursdays. Eventually, the police followed and surveilled from across the street for a while and eventually left. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were thrown off by how many people there were.
I think tonight displayed a successful community defense. While the police were still busy in the initial location with some people who stayed back to argue with them and the police tried to figure out if people had given up, others were around the corner setting up. When I first approached the distro setup in the new area, I was surprised by how many people there were. Not just the usual distro folks and people seeking resources, but others there to support and help keep the distro going even in the face of realtime repression. It wasn’t an ideal location to setup by any means, but people thought quick and didn’t let that ridiculous police response stop the distro from going on.

The city has approved PGE’s Harborton Reliability Project, which aims to clearcut 20 acres of
Forest Park to allow PGE to expand. Their goal is to begin this spring. This is 15 more acres than originally reported when this was first proposed.
What is the Harborton Reliability Project?
PGE wants to build new transmission lines from the new Harborton substation to Linton to Hillsboro. This lines up with where Intel plans to build a new semiconductor fabrication plant in the next five years, in addition to rebuilding their existing plant.
These expansions are largely aimed to serve the expansion of Intel and other big tech companies in Silicone Forest (which the city is also trying to expand). Each plant consumes as much electricity as 50,000 homes so the timing and location of this PGE update seems a little more than coincidental. Motivations aside, The Harborton Project started by proposing clear cutting a minimum of 6 acres through the park and putting up a line that would connect to the existing lines owned by the Bonneville Power Administration west of the current project area.
This project area is near the Harborton frog crossing, and it would demolish a wetland home to the red-legged frog that is federally recognized as a species of concern and protected in Oregon. While the initial "Project Area" designated by the PGE Harborton Fact Sheet only illustrated the first 6 acres to be cut headed west, it did not indicate how many additional acres of the park would need to be sacrificed to the southern leg of the project. A year ago, the PGE Harborton Project webpage passively mentioned an additional two phases to this project being in early planning stages but they craftily omitted that they had already obtained the permits for putting in underwater cables down the Columbia and Willamette to the Linnton substation.
PGE’s revised land-use application filed with the City of Portland proposed to clear cut 4.7 acres of 150+ year old Douglas fir and bigleaf maple trees and proposes to remove 5 white oak trees estimated to be 170-500 years old. In total, the proposal included the removal of 376 living trees, and 21 dead trees. It will permanently fill at least two wetlands and disrupts two streams that support multiple species of aquatic wildlife. That’s all when it was still 4.7 acres.
They slowly added more phases to their project as things progressed, which means more clear cutting of Forest Park. According to PGE, phase 5 of this project may also impact an additional 15 acres of Forest Park to the northwest and west potentially disrupting the Miller Creek watershed which contains salmon habitat. So it’s still unclear just *how much* they intend to clearcut, something PGE has been intentionally vague and confusing about from the early planning stages.

Yesterday at the community free store's Thursday distro, Portland Police arrived and began to harass community members both seeking and distributing resources. Around 6:00 PM, a group of about four officers approached as people were still setting up. They informed those present that the tables on the sidewalk needed to be removed or citations would be issued. Moments later, without any warning or explanation, an officer grabbed an individual by one of the tables, forced them to their knees, and restrained their hands behind their back. They were then dragged across the street, handcuffed, and placed in a squad car where they were held for 30 minutes before being released. When asked why they were being arrested, an officer said that they were just detaining people to get their identification.
In a matter of minutes, police went from supposedly being there because of the tables to detaining people they claimed were on the street. Soon after, the police presence intensified, with at least 11 squad cars present and over 20 officers on foot, filling an entire city block. Multiple people walking by asked if someone had been shot. It should be noted that PPB consistently complains about staff shortages but they have no issue sending out an insane amount of resources to harass and assault the houseless community and those helping them.
After the first arrest, I was standing on the sidewalk when two officers approached me, pulled me into the street, and restrained my hands behind my back. One officer repeatedly presented me with two options: accept a citation or go to jail.
Feeling angry and unjustly accused, I remained silent, refusing to comply with an unfair choice. When I didn't respond as he hoped, I was handcuffed and taken back to the sidewalk.
Eventually, I was released with a citation, which I believe was for impeding traffic, though the details are illegible.
During this incident, 3 people total were detained and cited, others were also subjected to harassment and being assaulted by the police, and citations were issued to parked cars nearby.
The community free store has become an essential resource in Portland, flourishing over the past year. It provides hot food, water, snacks, seasonal clothing, hygiene and medical supplies, tents, blankets, and more-resources that can be lifesaving.
Since January 2nd, the police have increasingly targeted the community free store. Initially, they surveiled from their vehicles, but soon escalated to recording from a distance, questioning individuals in groups, and gathering intelligence. Yesterday marked a significant escalation of their tactics.
As in previous encounters, when PPB threatened to cite individuals, many who relied on these vital resources left empty-handed. This intimidation strategy effectively discourages vulnerable populations from seeking help. Which is of course intentional. The police's actions also aim to instill fear among those distributing resources and to deter future congregation and participation. Detaining and citing individuals also serves to identify them for further intelligence gathering on these communities.
Mutual aid efforts, the poor, and houseless communities have long faced repression and state-sanctioned violence. The autonomy and self-reliance fostered by these community initiatives challenge state authority and control over our lives. It is not uncommon for those involved in mutual aid to experience harassment, surveillance, physical violence, arrests, and citations. The state utilizes various repressive measures, criminalizing mutual aid activities and deploying law enforcement to disrupt gatherings. This situation highlights the ongoing tension between state power and community resilience, emphasizing the urgent need to protect mutual aid as a crucial form of organization that addresses systemic inequalities and promotes collective empowerment.

Stopped by a brewery before leaving the coast earlier today. We sat outside, it was a really beautiful day so it was pretty busy. The hostess walked up to a table that had two men sitting at it with a drink. She told them that they were fine there before because there was space, but now that people needed to be seated they had to move because they ordered a beer from the bar and those tables are only for table service. She pointed out an another outdoor seating area they could utilize. The two guys started getting mad, one of them was like “I don’t like that. You’re saying we need to leave our table? I’ve never been asked to move like this in my entire life” and just kept going off. The hostess repeated herself and she was being really kind and apologetic just explaining the situation… they finally got up and were still going off at her. As they were walking away one of them shouted “liberal bathrooms, of course it’s a liberal brewery!” making a huge scene.
For about an hour after all I could think about was the bathrooms. I was so curious what was so liberal about them. I thought maybe at most they had inclusive signage or something that could’ve triggered these dudes. I finally got up to check it out… it was just single stall bathrooms with walls from floor to ceiling?? The only sign I saw was one on the way that said “bathrooms” with an arrow lol. Such babies

Idaho, and CDA specifically, has long been a testing ground for nazis and the far right. It’s an organizational hub for neo nazis and christo-fash, perhaps even the strongest/biggest in the country for both above and underground groups and organizing.
In addition to countless neo nazi groups, klan, militias, active clubs, Aryan nation, etc that were born and exist in Idaho, politicians in Idaho also have strong ties to white nationalists and far-right militias- including former lieutenant governor Janice McGeachin who is not ashamed to hide her love for far-right militias like the Three Percent Militia, spoke at Nick Fuentes’ white nationalist America First Political Action Conference, and has close ties to Ammon Bundy. Or Idaho state representative Heather Scott, who was an active participant in the occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. Or Dave Reilly, who promoted the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, who was endorsed by the Idaho Freedom Foundation for a school board position (who lost and was then hired by the IFF as a communications strategist). There are countless examples such as these.
IFF is a far right lobbying group, and they are a major player in Idahos politics with a lot of power and influence, and are deeply tied to the far right. In 2022, 9 candidates who were not endorsed by the IFF say they were stalked, harassed, doxxed, and feared for their safety due to threats from white supremacists- several of which withdrew from the races because of this. One of the candidates even had a far right group doing “training sessions” outside of her home to intimidate her.
Pay attention to Idaho.

Yesterday, a woman was detained by three men who
refused to identify themselves for speaking during a Kootenai County Republican Central Committee town hall and pointing out that town halls are supposed to feature citizen comment. The men who detained her were not wearing any badges or security labels/company logos. They were carrying zip ties on them, and were handing out religious Christo-fash pamphlets. Some of the material they were passing out was titled “prayer guide for state legislators - make America righteous again”
The woman illegally detained is Teresa Borrenpohl. Other people (all democrats, according to local media) who tried to help were also detained. Additional footage displays an off duty officer attempting to remove her before the men in black did. He threatened to use force against her and threatened anyone who was filming.
The town hall took place at a high school in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Local Idaho media claims that her violent removal was initiated by County Sheriff Bob Norris before involving LEAR Asset management, a private security firm with alleged ties to sheriff Norris.

Pretty much all day everyone has been following all laws. Even during the march the group got very split because people stopped for every single red light. All day the crowd has kept to sidewalks and parks. A few people put traffic cones on the block right in front of city hall blocking oncoming traffic. Now people have flooded into the streets. Lots of cheering, dancing and music

Part of the group that marched made it to the other side of the Morrison Bridge, then took the Esplanade to take the Hawthorne bridge back to downtown. Bike cops swooped in trying to split the crowd and blocked off anyone else from following suit. March heading back to downtown as bike cops tail. This march was unplanned by organizers, but the people here all wanted to do something other than chant to an empty building. Similar to the last 50501 protest I went to in Salem, crowd today is extremely diverse in both politics and age

There aren’t “enough hacks against the police… so we took matters into our own paws”
A group called the puppygirl hacker polycule has leaked thousands of police training & policy manuals from departments across the country from Lexipol.
Lexipol is the name of the private company that develops policy manuals, training bulletins, and consulting services for first responders. It is the number one company writing policies that protect cops nationwide. It was founded by two police officers turned lawyers in 2003. Texas Law Review called them the “dominant force in police policymaking across the country,” despite the existence of other companies and nonprofits doing similar work.
The company drafts policies and manuals on matters ranging from use of force, less-lethal alternatives to rules surrounding confidential informants and high-speed chases. When speaking on Lexicon, DDoSecrets said “there is little transparency on how decisions are made to draft their policies, which have an oversized influence on policing in the United States.”
In 2017, the ACLU demanded that Lexipol “eliminate illegal and unclear directives that can lead to racial profiling and harassment of immigrants.” One year later, the ACLU said that Lexipol’s policies led an officer in the city of Spokane, WA to unlawfully detain and hold the victim of a car accident to be questioned by immigration authorities.
In 2015, Kris Jackson, a Black 22 year old, got into an argument with his partner. Police ended up knocking on the door and Jackson decided he didn’t want to deal with them as he was on probation. He tried leaving through the bathroom window when an officer rounded the corner of the building and saw Jackson hanging out the window. The cop immediately shot him, claiming he “looked aggressive” and that he had a gun. There was no gun found and Jackson died at the hospital.
Officer Klinge was not charged, of course, and received a payed vacation before quietly retiring. Jackson’s parents ended up filing a lawsuit against the officer, several police department staff, and the city of South Lake Tahoe, arguing that not only had Klinge used excessive force against their son, but that the police department had an illegal policy allowing him to do so. That policy, written by a company called Lexipol, stated that officers could use deadly force to protect themselves or others from any “imminent” threat of serious injury or death. An “imminent” threat, the policy explained, was broader than an “immediate” threat such as someone pointing a gun.

In getting ready for today’s Super Bowl in New Orleans, state police and other law enforcement agencies directed by the Louisiana governor, Jeff Landry, forced over 100 houseless folks onto buses under threat of arrest. They were dumped in an unheated warehouse, all of their belongings are lost and their tents have been destroyed.
When one unhoused man told state police he didn't want to go the warehouse, the officers responded, “It’s either that or jail.”
The man offered to move somewhere else but was told: “No, you can come with us or we’ll cuff you and throw you in jail.” He complied and was bussed to the warehouse, where he was processed and given an identification bracelet.
Other unhoused people, including one woman still wearing a hospital bracelet, had been forced to quickly abandon all their possessions as officers descended and began to rip apart their tents with knives and a Caterpillar front-end loader, according to witnesses.
Three days before police began sending unhoused community members to the warehouse prison, New Orleans chief of staff/city council member visited the warehouse. She wrote in her affidavit that “the warehouse had no floor, and I was told by [on-site] staff that the walls had no insulation”. Rain leaked through holes in the roof, pooling on the ground near the sleeping area. There are also no eye level windows. New Orleans is also experiencing historic snowfall.
Workforce Group, the company that received the operating contract for the warehouse is politically connected to Governor Landry. They’re charging $17.5 million for 3 months. “The price tag is also equivalent to a year’s rent for a one-bedroom apartment for 1,177 people, which would constitute roughly 80% of New Orleans’ unhoused population.”

List of demands from Healthcare Workers for Trans Youth:
We demand that Seattle Children's Hospital resume gender affirming surgeries immediately. This includes resuming scheduling, coordinating, completing surgery and providing post surgical care for all gender affirming surgeries regardless of age of the patient.
We demand that Seattle Children's Hospital leadership deliver a statement in support of gender affirming care, the gender clinic, and Washington State anti-discrimination law; a statement that does not use excuses such as finances and insurance reimbursements. Going forward, implementing a communication strategy in which all community partners and referral sources have access to a clarified statement from SCH which details how to refer patients, who can receive treatment at Seattle Children's Hospital, and which procedures are included in the Surgical Gender Affirmation Program service line.
We demand that members of hospital executive leadership reach out directly to those families affected by cancelled surgeries, attempting to repair the harm caused by this sudden exclusion from care. Specifically, to reimburse impacted families for any travel, medical supplies, meals, time away from work, or any other personal cost which was earned due to planned leave (inclusive of caretakers) to accommodate their surgeries.
We demand that Seattle Children's Hospital direct it's legal resources to defend existing, evidence-based care that has been approved by their licensed medical professionals. Further more, legal arguments should defer to protections under state law and be prepared to set precedence for its defense of all Seattle Children's Hospital patients, practitioners, staff, and alleged principles.

Happening now: Hospital staff and community members are currently protesting outside of the Seattle Children’s Hospital demanding the reinstatement of gender affirming surgeries for trans youth.
Following Trump's executive order banning all federal support for gender affirming care for trans children and youth, Seattle Children's Hospital (SCH) is canceling gender affirming surgeries with less than 24hr notice. Critical and life saving surgeries that had been scheduled months in advance. Complying with this executive order (which is not even law) violates Washington state's anti-discrimination laws and must be stopped.
Healthcare workers say that they only discovered via news outlets and public forums that gender affirming surgeries have been paused indefinitely at
SCH, the only children's hospital serving Washington, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho. This alarming news has left healthcare workers searching for answers and demanding solutions. "In lieu of official guidance or communication from SCH, queer healthcare workers and their allies are autonomously gathering community support for trans youth. A variety of group actions are already planned in accordance with the Saint Paul Principles of organizing. The intent of these activities is to bring our demands to the attention of the SCH Executive Leadership," said someone with Healthcare Workers for Trans Kids.

The importance and significance of gender affirming care cannot be overstated. These surgeries save lives. To deny these services is a breach of professional ethics, as well as SCH's own policies. It is their responsibility to defend their patients and employees from fascist threats. We refuse the notion that federal funding will be secured by sacrificing transgender, nonbinary, intersex, or gender diverse young people. The American Psychological Association's amicus brief for the upcoming Supreme Court case United States v.
Skrmetti states, "every major medical and mental health organization in the United States follows guidelines that allow for medical interventions for adolescents when deemed medically appropriate by a licensed medical professional." We ask, were these cancellations done in consultation with their licensed medical providers, or accountants and lawyers? This action directly intervenes with SCH's Zero Suicide Initiative and placates a transphobic federal administration that has no intention to fund healthcare at all. We gather to express our concerns for, and our solidarity with trans youth. Let our presence show our children, niblings, and siblings that trans adulthood is beautiful. Not only were the cops protecting the nazis as usual, but other footage shows police getting violent and pushing Black people down to the ground in order to protect the nazis and get them away. Just layers and layers of racism.
The response today was honestly remarkable. This wasn’t a planned counter-action. It was a spontaneous response that was both community defense and direct action. They still persisted and showed no fear in directly confronting nazi scum. And they made the unbadged nazis leave.

Proud Boys can no longer legally use their own name and logo and are barred from selling any merch with either its name or its symbols without the consent of the Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal Church, the Black church in Washington that Proud Boys targeted and vandalized.
Enrique Tarrio and several other Proud Boys attacked the church in December of 2020. The church won a $2.8 million default judgment against the Proud Boys and their former leader. After they failed to turn over any money, lawyers for the church sought to satisfy the judgment by seizing control of the trademarked name and by enjoining the group from “selling, transferring, disposing of or licensing any merchandise using the words “Proud Boys” or any of the organization’s symbols.”

Earlier this afternoon, a massive bus was seen parked at the ICE building in Portland. At the same time, a PPB vehicle was parked directly across the street facing the ICE building.
Someone who was near the building taking photos of the huge bus ended up getting detained for taking pictures. Portland police told the person they detained that they were watching ICE and ID’ing anybody who trespasses on ICE property today.
This is a sanctuary city. PPB is not supposed to be helping or working with ICE. Just last week our new mayor said that PPB would not be cooperating with ICE. But anyone familiar with local immigration and deportation is very aware that this happens much more frequently than is reported.

My case was dismissed!
My statement for the National Writers Union:
On May 2nd, 2024, I was arrested while reporting on the ground at Portland State University. I was documenting the police’s actions as they cleared an encampment and library occupation in support of the liberation of Palestine when, later that evening, I was arrested by the Portland Police Bureau while filming the violent arrests occurring in the park in front of the PSU library.
Following my arrest, I faced consistent harassment from the police until I was finally let out of jail early the next morning. This harassment included racist remarks, sexual harassment, misogyny, a cop taking a selfie with me as I was in handcuffs, and the persistent interruption of all my phone calls.
This experience has highlighted the critical importance of press freedom and the rights of journalists to report on public events without fear of arrest or intimidation. The need for transparency and accountability in our institutions grows increasingly urgent. And under a Trump presidency, protecting our First Amendment rights is more important than ever.
My trial was set to begin on January 27th. I was offered a plea deal multiple times, but I refused to plead guilty to a crime I did not commit. My commitment to uncovering the truth and informing the public remains steadfast, even in the face of these challenges.

Cops have nothing better to do than harass unhoused people. So many people who wanted food, shelter, warm clothes and other resources left with nothing because the cops showed up. They were trying to question people and taking down all the license plates.
Never talk to cops. A few weeks ago at the Thursday free store a squad car drove by. He was acting super nice, telling people “oh this is so cool I love what you’re doing” and then proceeded to try to ask people questions, still in a “friendly” way, like “how often does this happen?” and “what time are you guys here?” He was just trying to get intel. The next Thursday they drove by again, slowly, and this time filming everyone.
Then the escalation today.

Defense is now beginning their closing arguments.
Defense begins by saying "if the cost of speech or assembly is being locked up in a cage, that speech is meaningless." He goes on to say that speaking out and taking action is the only way we make progress. He brings up Ruby Bridges and various Freedom Fighters from the '60's and continues to say that the Freedom Fighters were the driving force behind the de-segregation of our public schools. He listed out a few examples of direct action they took, and how it also helped to amplify and advance the public debate about justice. He said the defendant was there "to advocate for change, and refused to shrink in the face of police threats."
Defense highlighted once again how universities are public spaces, and the garage gave no indication that anyone from the public couldn't enter. He says the defendant had no reason to believe that "the police subjectively closed it off to the public" and there is zero evidence that she knew.
Defense: you saw the video. the police said "you're trespassing" to someone at one point and protesters said "no we're not."
Defense says that regardless of who was right you get an idea of the mental state they were in. They were exercising their constitutional rights and standing up for what they believe in.
He adds that even if they did hear it, that statement was wrong, they weren't trespassing. He said that commands from the police were not a legal order, but rather a "raw display of authority"

Jury is back from lunch. Closing arguments are starting.
State begins with the usual sucking up to the jury. Proceeds to say the defendant went into an underground garage (which is misleading because its only underground from some sides of the street but the entrance/exit and where everything happened is ground level. He proceeds to show video of the cops breaking the chains at the front doors to the admin building and explains that the police did this to protect people (building was empty) and for fear of what happened to the library (weeks before this).
On the TV screen we can see he is checking off boxes and presenting to the jury a definition for Trespass II- He has highlighted the first line which says "knowingly enters or remains on property"
He then highlights the line that says "not open to the public" and is listing off reasons why he believes the defendant knew it was not open to the public. He is citing the building being locked as proof of this even though the parking garage is whats in question here.
Now he is showing a map which highlights the route from the defendants apartment to the admin building/parking garage?? This is so odd... unclear what his point even was.
He then highlights the third and final line while defining trespassing, which says they remained "after a lawful order to vacate"

The cop testified that he heard Jimenez later in the garage shake his can of mace and threaten the defendant. Judge is agreeing with DA that this is not relevant. Witness and jurors are out of the courtroom now.
Defense is now requesting a motion of acquittal, on the grounds that the defendant didn't have the knowledge that the garage was closed to the public as the State is claiming. They also raised the Right to Remain under the first amendment and that they had a right to be there.

Break before cross examination. They are going over some objections now.
Jackson mentioned that library cost the university millions of dollars in damages during her testimony as well. Defense is arguing that this prejudices the jury and is totally irrelevant.
DA is arguing that they were providing context for other arrests they made on campus. He also insinuated that everyone arrested at the library was guilty, even though two people have been acquitted and some have yet to have their trials yet.
This is so silly to me. The damage has been done so wtf is striking something from the record gonna do when it's already in the jury's heads.

They just played a video that shows Swingle asking if they should "start pushing people," he explained this as him meaning pushing the police cars out (lmao?)
minutes after he said this, PPB came in and formed a line with campus police, and within seconds they began the first brutal push of the day.

Second witness for the State is now taking the stand. Portland State University officer Scott Swingle. He's describing his role as being a hero to students experiencing domestic abuse (lol).
Immediately they're showing his body cam footage which shows a massive set of bolt cutters being used to unchain students from the admin building front doors- this is kind of funny because it disproves the whole "we weren't planning arrests and a response!" thing. Last I check massive bolt cutters aren't standard issue and that took some planning.

This cop just called the people sitting on the ground linking arms aggressive and violent.
It was very tame and clearly a form of passive resistance. Even the videos show that. She then proceeded to call the police response on that day that sent numerous people to the hospital "deescalation"

Trial Day 2:
The DA is questioning Sergeant Jackson again, he is now asking her about the property damage done to the PSU library. Defense objected but it was overruled by the judge. I don't understand what purpose this serves aside from prejudicing the jury. This day at PSU was on May 23rd, the library was raided and cleared by police on May 2nd and no one returned after that. This defendant is not on trial for the library.

Sergeant Jackson said that the garage was only open to patrol vehicles on this day, as all staff had been instructed to work from home. There were no signs or anything to indicate this on the day of.
The cop also lied and said that the front doors of the admin building that were chained created a severe safety hazard as there was no way for anyone to get out of the building. She later admitted to being aware that there were multiple entrances and exits in the building and acknowledged that there are no "no trespassing" signs in the garage.
Now she is claiming they had no idea they were going to make arrests that day (talking about the garage), but campus police showed up and wasted no time, they immediately began arresting those chained to the building and they came with tools to break the chains. They definitely knew and prepared for it.

More updates soon, but defense attorney has brought up an issue with the judge. Sergeant Jackson, PSU officer who is the first witness for the State, eavesdropped on the defendant and defense attorney having a private conversation and proceeded to approach the DA to fill him in on what she heard.
Defense attorney is arguing that these actions show bias from the cops and a personal interest in prosecuting the defendant.
Judge said that because they had conversations around the prosecutor and state witness it was not a confidential conversation and there was no violation of attorney client privilege. Judge said defense attorney is only free to ask about it if they believe it has or will influence the officers testimony.

The judge for this case is Steffan Alexander and the defendant is charged with criminal trespass in the second degree.
During pretrial motions the DA made it sound like their argument will be that the parking garage is not open to the public.

ran into Jimenez as I was going to the bathroom so I expect him to testify for the State. He was one of, if not THE, most violent cop that day. He is a Portland State University campus police officer and has countless complaints against him filed by students. He's one of those cops that you can tell is especially thirsty for blood.

Trial for a defendant from Portland State University today.
They finished up pre trial motions and are about to start jury selection.
This case is from a few weeks after the library was raided in May of 2024. Two students chained themselves to the admin building on campus and were quickly forcibly removed and arrested by campus police. During these arrests Officer Jimenez ripped off a students hijab before throwing them into a police car.
In response to this, the very next day students came back to chain themselves to the building again. After police assaulted and arrested those chained to the building, students and community members went to the side of the admin building where the parking garage is. They went over there to attempt to block the police cars that had the arrestees in them. Some students sat on the ground in front of and behind the police vehicles, while others formed a line and linked arms blocking the entrance/exit to the garage.
The response from law enforcement was one of the most brutal responses from law enforcement in Portland I had seen in quite some time. This was the same day campus police broke a students ribs, tore someones ACL who then had to get surgery , and put at least 3 people in the hospital.
You might remember this as the day one of the responding officers had a heart attack moments after assaulting students. I have a thread with coverage from this day somewhere on here but I can't currently find and link to that.
Will share updates as necessary/when I can. Opening statements expected to begin after lunch.

Last night Turning Point USA had an event planned at University of Washington. Antifascists showed up to disrupt the event by setting off the fire alarms right as the event started. Event goers had to evacuate the building twice, and one of their speakers, Olivia Krolczyk, was unable to give her speech lol.

Towards the end of the night a trash can with something on fire in it got dragged over near the building. DHS police ended up dragging to the front door and struggled as they attempted to fit it through lol

Noise demonstration at the ICE building in Portland last night. Smaller group of people showed up and judging by the response and fear the feds were pretty caught off guard. The entire night there was about 4 of them actively responding while a few of their buddies kept watch inside.
