We’ve finally been able to bbq for the first time in a while and two nights in a row! It’s been a nice change - no excuses to avoid it. But today was definitely hotter in the yard than yesterday (and I was the one at the bbq tonight).
We’ve had the air off, and I’m trying to stop myself from turning it on and just enjoy the heat that isn’t entirely awful while also enjoying clean & fresh air. I’m really hoping it is cooler than they say it should be overnight - last night was lovely!

Oh good gods. I had a look at a map of all of the fires while on a client call earlier. While yes, we have to do something to help minimize the human impact we’re having with these devastating wildfires, where do they expect people to go? I added toooooo much pudding mix to one the other day, the pint holder was trying to escape the grasp of the machine multiple times. 🙃 I forgot to put the ring on one night and it sucked the pint right to the paddle, shaved some plastic and made awful sounds and smells. Quickly turned it off, but it of course doesn’t stop immediately.. Hoping I don’t burn out the motor before the end of the summer. 😬

We’ve made so many since we got it.. some were terrible and some were great.. I just prepped our two deluxe pints (gotta get more but CT only had the reg ones when we checked this weekend) with a strawberry vanilla mix.. we’ll see if we end up splitting one or demolishing both tomorrow night.

I wish I could say the same for ours. By the condo, there are several blue signs at Hunt Club & Conroy. I am unsure about by the house - I want to say I didn’t see as many down here, but Bank & Hunt Club surely has some for each? Actually I know I’ve seen a single Liberals sign at minimum. It’s always been their riding for as long as I can remember, so I don’t except it to change this time around unfortunately.

Oh, yeah, I saw that! I meant grabbing it and putting it in the window until the storm passes, assuming it wasn’t supported by a wooden stake, but also forgetting about the massive snowbank and having to climb it to retrieve the sign. Too much snow, and that wooden stake makes it less nice in the window.

We have a furnace!!! Which I’m ridiculously excited about. No more boilers or baseboard or someone else controlling the temperatures.

The house is more incredible than I remember.
The dumping of snow is going to make this move an interesting one, but the parking lot and our space were being cleared when we were leaving.
The neighbours we had a chance to say hello to tonight were all lovely.

Lower Town will forever have a piece of my heart. It was where I lived when I first moved to Ottawa! I had a tiny place and a horrible landlord, but an awesome neighbour. Unbeknownst to me, @npub179e…6tg2 & @npub18ma…rcdu lived at the other end of our massive street and now live across from where I lived! (Please don’t tell me you two moved again and I’ve forgotten lol) - I’d move back in a heartbeat if it made sense budget and commute-wise for us.

You might want to review hurricane season. However! I went for three weeks from thanksgiving to just before Halloween. Fisherman’s Cove, Lunenberg, Peggy’s Cove, a bunch of beaches including Lawrencetown But Provincial Park. And since you’re driving, I’d suggest Digby, too. My trip ended earlier than planned so Digby has to wait for a future visit.
