They only outlawed "relying on touch screen to control cars' essential control features, like gear shifting". Most cars manufactured in China still keeps getting bigger touchscreens, they just don't rely on it for control features like what Tesla is doing.
FWIW it's still better than newer Teslas sold outside China (drivers need to use touchscreens to shift gears, ffs), but they didn't rule "touchscreens in cars" as illegal in itself.

`curl | bash` (It's `python` but whatever) works fine if one trusts the web server it curl'd. For example, if someone is installing a toolchain and would download the toolchain from that same server anyway, `curl |bash` would be fine as it didn't *trust* more entities it would have with alternative means.
(Of course blindly curl|bash is a thing and I won't argue that's indeed bad)
But that copy[dot]fail website which seems extremely AI-pilled? ... 😬
Also that python script seems extremely obfuscated and unreadable (*). That's probably intended to support the claim of "732-byte Python script"... Haha as if how few lines of code a PoC have means anything outstanding right 🙃 Deeply unserious people.
(*) after I downloaded it from Github. I don't trust Microsoft very much but I have not heard that Microsoft has ever served targetted malware to people downloading things from Github either.

I don't think extensions having static IDs are the problem. My problem is: why is an external website allowed to access extension assets (without extension allowing it explicitly)? That sounds like a security nightmare.

Writefreely (the software that powers write.as ) can't host pictures, unless you upload pic to another server and link the pic in the blog post. (but then the pic's at the whim of the pic-hosting server)
Writefreely also provides neither password recovery method (even with recovery email set) nor two-factor authentication. The fedi integration is kind of quirky and would broke if you change blogpost link address.
To write blogposts using writefreely, one need to use markdown language.
Write.as was in pay-to-register-only for a long time, but today I checked, they opened up free tier again.

I remembered Signal president Meredith Whittaker once mentioned in a speech that, the word (and field) AI was created because a researcher wanted gov funding and didn't want their work to be categorized under another researcher's field (cybernetics iirc?).
