Ah, cool! So you're generating the whole thing in a shader, then? Does that mean you can procedurally set the iris color and such?
Does Godot let you do modular shaders yet (eg: split them into multiple files)? If not, I might experiment with rendering to textures in phases since it would probably help reduce the complexity of each shader step, but that's just me :)

Here's the thing about "Mastodon needs to accept people who think _____!"
It does already, technologically. That's the point. Find a node you like or host your own if nothing lines up perfectly. It's an infinitely accepting platform where anyone can truly say anything (legal) about anything.
So when someone says "Mastodon needs to accept (opinion)" they mean "the users of Mastodon need to accept (opinion)."
This is fascist behavior.

honestly, just another point in the column of: let me buy a cheaper TV with no software and plug a $100 mini PC into it so I can pick whatever software I want (which will run better than on your "smart TV")

Yaaay, I'm so glad the solution was that simple!
For reference: Ubuntu really likes Snap for its packages under the idea that it's much safer to put every application in its own sandbox and give them minimal permissions iOS style. The problem is that so many programs expect basic stuff like arbitrary file access and network access that expecting users to manage hundreds of sets of permissions and rules for basic features is unrealistic.
