Huge scale layoffs, enormous increase of memory prices, re-engaging nuclear power plants... And all this just for a race between a couple of companies.
likely all of them know that whoever slows down now looses the game and all investment. But instead of building a monopoly and slow down, they are burning their own assets regardless of losses.

Friends! Finally! I got my day of #snowshoeing!! 😀
I didn't even plan to go very far but the snow and the weather were just wonderful and I felt confident to ascend further.
I didn't go to the summit. I just returned at a point where I admitted that I wouldn't do it for the fun but only for being there. So I returned and had an amazing snow day.
I also met a couple several times and had some nice chats with them - Wich contributed to the good day as well.

For #footpathfriday I'm sharing this one again. It's really one of our most liked trails.
Even though it doesn't gain a lot of elevation, the path along the shore of the lake is all I like:
narrow, pretty nature like, absolutely great views, bends along the shores so that you don't see too far, and mountains all around ... what else would you need 🙂

yes it's been a nice day! At the beginning it was pretty warm and we said that t-shirt would have been better than long sleeves.
But higher up and when the clouds covered the sun we were quite happy to have jackets with us.

So, in consequence, each question to an ai must must generate a multitude of what ad revenue of Google does with one search. Right?
And as long as this is not the case, it means that it's highly subsidized. And I wonder how this develops as soon as companies aren't willing - or capable - anymore to subsidize this kind of service.

Just a little one and a half hour walk nearby before it was supposed to be raining (and rugby starts).
It was a nice walk and good to be out. Strangely, my old GPS device refused to get a location despite having lots of satellites. Just 10min before coming back (after a couple of restarts and taking the batteries out and back in) it worked.
Fortunately, I only had it with me to test if my heart rate monitor also connects to it.

haha you're right! that day, the forecast said: very cloudy & rather low hanging clouds.
Today I'm samrter and know that low hangign clouds can also mean "spontaneous wind & rainfall possible". Back in the days I was a bit more naive. At least we had a light rain jacket and rain pants with us!

My #silentsunday photo from a recent hike where I indeed saw the first little blossoms! I was so surprised to see them!
On the one side I was a bit sad as this means that winter is coming to an end and I did have far less winter hikes than wished. On the other side: spring is all around! Colors, more hiking routes, mountainbiking, ... all this is waiting 🙂

It was a beautiful stroll through the park, watching the wildlife there when this situation came to be. Unplanned, just by pure luck.

Hey friends of the #mountains - I almost didn't make it away from my couch today morning. But as you can see, I did!
I spent a couple of hours hiking into the snow. During the ascent I was happy that I left my snow shoes at home. Yet for half an hour or an hour, I really missed them when I sometimes sank in deeper than my knees.
But it was all well manageable and I regained so much mental energy. - Just glorious.

Some photos from today's hike in the mountains. To escape the fog.
It was very very icy at the bottom. And I was super happy to have my micro spikes.
The way up was pretty calm. Right the #silentsunday I had desired. At the summit there were a bit too many people and I didn't see proper motives. So I just enjoyed the view and the really warm temperature.
On the way down I met quite a couple of people.
All in all, an excellent day.

Been out cycling for an hour. The last days were a mix of cold and sunshine. The result is that my usual loop has quite a couple of sections which are fully iced. And no rough ice but plain like a mirror.

* Action cam chest strap is ace! More videos to come
* had the wrong gloves
* cold toes will liklely remain a problem. Even with hiking boots and neopren toe warmers ... Next attempt soon: warming inlay soles. (or Heated socks/soles ... )

Now this was a gorgeous cycling loop. Temperature was around freezing but luckily just few wind. As you see, the weather was ace. Clouds and fog stayed in the north 🌞
Also tried Knee warmers, which was just right! A very good buy!
I just need a solution against freezing toes. @npub1ttg…v0xy ,I bought neoprene toe warmer! The shoes are just a bit tight then, that's why I didn't have them today. Maybe a mistake 🤔

Good morning! For this #silentSunday I want to share this #foggy path with you.
I was on my way down and when I enetered the fog, temperature really dropped. Actually I didn't want to stop or slow down in order to avoid cooling out.
But at this spot I had to take a quick break for a quick photo to capture the memories of this day. It would have been smart to utilize the break to put on an additional layer - but I wasn't THAT smart ;-)

Here's a photo that's a bit different from my usual style.
I took it with the tele lens on last weekend's hike. The inversion caused such a great sea of clouds with just some sole islands.
This kind of weather really offers such unique motives. And again: it was worth carrying the zoom lens up there :-D

Oh, almost forgot #silentsunday!
My last hike led me to this summit which is usually very well visited.
But given the weekday & weather, I was totally alone while I was up there. Noone around. No human made sound. Just me and nature. It felt so much like real freedom.

This is from a trail that I did a couple of times already in different seasons. And this sections just offers such a cool view to the south.
The trail itself varies quite a bit in all terms - which I totally like. Well - enjoy!

In times like these I'm just SO grateful that the fediverse doesn't operate through algorithms AND that I never wanted to make a business out of my social media presence.
Just posting whatever I want, whenever I want. And you folks are just there and interact (or not). And for every interaction, I know that it's a genuine one, not "for the algorithm". - And THIS is just SO precious to ME.
It simply feels so honest.

'Eisige Zeiten' #FotoVorschlag 'icy times'
Oh I have a couple of frosty photos, but this might be one of my best. I spent quite a while there to capture the cold feeling.
Packed in multiple layers, I really spent quite a while around that spot in order to really see the right motives.
It just reminds me that I could post more of my winter photos! :)

A bit of #mountainMonday ! I took this in January 2024.
I hiked that mountain and decided not just to hike to the summit but to spend some considerable time and try to capture some photos that express cold & #winter.
I layed down to the ground and waited for the wind to blow some snow flakes over this edge. It was real fun trying that. And I didn't spend a thought about what others could think of me crawling in the snow.

honestly it's not that amazing to hike but there are very nice views. It's the best along the shore of this lake, especially on days like today that are not too inviting for most people, so that it's not too crow.
But I love to integrate it in a cycling loop

For several reasons I didn't do mountains this weekend. But I enjoyed a nice cozy loop in the vicinity to the #kirchsee.
At this spot I made a quick stop and thought: #silentsunday! Not even wind. Just a lake, view, mountains in the distance and me and my bike.
