still haven't worked out to use kdeconnect on OpenBSD. Made sure the ports in pf.conf are configured, but still no gain. Any nudge into the right direction welcome.
Works fine on FreeBSD, btw... I can work around filesharing by sharing from or to my phone by using my NAS but I like kdeconnect's call and message notifications.

Nice! I had similar thoughts when I ditched Plasma and switched to LXQt ('ellix cute';-) on FreeBSD.
I tried it for a while and was astonished how little I missed from Plasma. Default look and feel is funtional, which is imho good. A bit like a clean slate. But I wanted it it to be closer to my current workflow.
I decided I look what's in the default pkg repository settled on a widget and icon theme I liked and I could use on gtk2, gtk3 and qt5 and 6 (with some compatibility layer), used the brilliant wallpapers by @npub13tt…4cy2, pushed some panels here and there and wrote me some helper script for window button actions from the panel.
I migrated now all my FreeBSD/GhostBSD and now my OpenBSD setup and it really pays how lightweight it is breathing some life again into my stoneage Dell Laptop from 2009.

First official day of my free days. An old friend asked to come over for coffee or tea and asked if I introduce him to BSD. He's using Fedora, atm.
So I mopped the deck... err... the floor, cleaned up a bit, get some cake and prepare some USB sticks with FreeBSD, GhostBSD, NomadBSD and OpenBSD and downloaded the netbsd image just in case.
who cares for the Linux darkside having cookies if you can get cake when looking into #RunBSD 🤷‍♀️

Cooking some potatoes to chop em up and fry them for lunch. Rummage in the garden, do a bike trip down to the beach. Later have some tea in the sun warming my creaking bones. Maybe messing a bit more with OpenBSD in the evening.

Seems KDE's new login/session manager which is supposed to replace sddm dropped FreeBSD support and will be systemd only.
I could rant about this being a typical techbro linux move (and about fedora, as far I can see in this case) or ask on the kde discuss what's the real deal, but I am tired of this, so tired...
It is sending exactly the wrong message to other OS ports and it's why I left the GNU/Linux world. Move fast, break things...
*sigh* Ok, I should start worrying about plasma6's general direction now and slowly looking for another DE here on FreeBSD. It's not worth the struggle.

hast du einen Eindruck, wie wie die Reparierbarkeit bzw. Upgradefähigkeit ist?
Das T14s hatte ich auch schon im Blick falls mein alter Latitude irgendwann nicht mehr will.
Tuxedo ist bei mir raus, da es scheinbar Modelle gibt, wo scheinbar das RAM verlötet ist.

For the Moment I See this as my options....
A) build scummvm from Ports with Flac enabled
-> caveat, every time scummvm gets updated it needs to be rebuild....
B) explore If you can convert various game files coming as flac to ogg
-> music should be straight forward with ffmpeg or oggenc as batch conversion, <s>speechbundles could be trickier, might work with the scummvm-tool or reencode my originals.</s> speech bundle is working.
C) use Windows or Linux emulation
-> needs some setting up
D) ignore and live with it
E) approach the maintainer of the Port and ask
-> not sure. There must be some reasoning they excluded it in the first place.
I probl go for B) for the time being - a bit of work, but in case of a new install I can just use the existing package and it will work on all platforms.

Some background. I was playing brokensword25 with scummvm from pkgs on FreeBSD, yesterday.
I finished it, enjoyed playing and thought about replaying part 1 and 2 of the Broken Sword series next, while I have to stay in sick leave at home.
When I tried the first part, I had from #GOG, oddly some musics l, e.g. the Intro or the cutscenes, were missing. I was sure they worked the last time played them on Linux awhile ago.
I first thought of a regression in upstream scummvm, but when I checked the default build flags of the FreeBSD pkg I learned flac support was not enabled.
I checked the game files and even though ingame musics was in ogg the cut scenes came as flac files( I assume, not to degrade sound quality converting from smk video sound, 11kHz, mono, to lossy ogg audio).
