Yeah like TTW. I also like to listen to Ali and Rob on Gold and Guest.
The great benefit of Bluesky is that it's easy to explain and talk about, and easy to get people to sign up and get started. It's a bit of a shame the fediverse doesn't get included in the conversation, but it's hard to talk about without getting into the technical weeds. I just hope Bridgy keeps getting better and, ideally, one day BSky supports a ATP to AP bridge natively.

Could part of that slow progression be because of a lack of confidence in the attacking players? E.g., that cross Brennan fizzed in, but nobody was there. If that happens, you're inevitably going to slow things down to wait for your guys to arrive in the box. Example of that being when Brennan recovered the ball against Leicester, then stopped. Looks like Ange has told him to just get up there, and get the cross in.

I don't blame him one bit for refusing to go to Saudi. Good on him for sticking to his guns. But that is something within his control, they did come for him, and he did pass on it. That's what I mean about fans getting upset with him; he's taking up a *crucial* striker position and he's constantly injured. We'll have to see. Plenty more season to go. It's been interesting so far.

I also quite like the idea of hashtag contexts. So you switch into, say, gardening context and all your posts have a user-defined set of hashtags automatically added until you switch context again. Very useful for current events (e.g. a sports match) in particular where it is easy to forget to add your hashtags.

This is the exact use case for why I set up this account. It turned out, the thousand or so followers on my "main" account aren't interested in esoteric posts about Tottenham Hotspur, and with there being no algorithm, I felt it better to create a separate account I could post "freely" on.
Using (guppe) groups works quite well when added to a list and excluded from main timeline. Can't add hashtags to lists, though.
Would love smthg like the old Google+ Circles if you remember those?

The ones I like right now are Alice's ECILA, Ben Bowman, and Spurs Unwrapped. That does me pretty well. Talk Tottenham (which aggregates all the interviews from various places) and the Offical channel are good. Oh and Tot Comps. Beenyman does the best production on the pressers.

I avoid those channels like the plague. Anyone who is too negative I block. I just don't need it. I use my own eyes and brain (and check the data to verify if my own eyes and brain aren't lying to me and fill in the gaps). The trouble is, negativity and drama generate attention, like rubber-necking a car crash. People slow down and have a look. Just try and ignore that stuff mate.

I think Sarr and Johnson (and perhaps some of the other younger players?) benefit from absorbing the patterns of the game because they're not the most confident players who impose their will on games; they possibly need a bit of direction. Also using their pace against tired legs.

Hope so. He's a great coach. Ange always spoke very highly of him and fans that knew of him were sorry to lose him. There was some talk of some of our youth heading your way because the similarity of playing style would work for both clubs. Not sure if anything has come of that yet, however. They're pretty good youth, tho. Won the PL2 in an intense competition last season.

They are VC funded to the tune of around $8 million for now, I believe. There is talk of them charging for "premium services" and custom domains/user handles. Not sure how much they plan to make through that, however. Seems a bit of a flimsy business model to me. But these tech companies don't care much for robust business models. It's always a case of building a user base then worrying about the money later (usually by monetising the user base)

I've got a feeling Ange is going to play Johnson and use Deki as a sub for Madders when he inevitably tires. I suspect Ange might want to show some faith in Brennan by not dropping him to the bench (and therefore further risking his confidence) too soon. Yeah, you could see and hear disappointed Ange was afterwards. We need to take our chances. The early run of success last season had several games like this, but were late wins. It highlighted the need for more energy in midfield and more 1v1 capability on the wing. Would love to see us bring in e.g. Gomes or Éderson to replace Skipp.

Gomes. Not sure about Éderson. He's more of a box-to-box 8 by my reckoning, and not Premier League proven. He'd be expensive for a non-EPL player. Gomes is elite at getting the ball back. Probably most similar player is Palhinha.

Ange has consistently said strengthening in the final third is the most important thing. That was evident in this game. Proves his point. Solanke will take time to settle (Haaland did, too), and Odobert will take time too, probably. What's clear is that we're still working on the strengthening; we're not strong... yet.

I'd say it's competition for Biss and Sarr, yeah. Ange wants real depth with competition for roles, and nobody comes close to doing what Biss does. No idea if there's any substance to the Gomes rumour, but it makes some sense, especially because of this 👇

I get what you’re saying. But Ange is building a squad of young players who will grow and learn together. He doesn’t want older players. He finds they don’t take on his ideas so readily. As much as some fans want to “win now”, that is not the game Ange is playing. He wants to compete now, but I”nobody truly believes we will win everything now. We’ve done the win now managers. They failed. Now we’re doing something different. You’ve got to trust, and try to enjoy, the process.

He won't last if fans don't get behind him. I'd much rather Ange than any of our previous managers. He's been backed. We've got a good balance of youth and experience. We're only on season 2 of a massive, painful rebuild. I think we're ahead of where other teams were at a similar stage of their rebuild – what more could you want? To be more like Chelsea?

I'd like to see what Deki can do in the 8 role. He's always had one of the best engines in the league, he's great at tracking back, is strong, gets the tackles in, gets the ball back and, crucially, he can assist and score. He could make a good rotation with Sarr which negates the need to bring in that Gallagher profile. He can also rotate with Maddison.

I think Jack Pitt-Brook described Deki as a "bum". The feels was very much "who are these castoffs from Juve?"
Turned out to be great business though.

Will Deki's "growth", which Ange spoke of during preseason, extend to an improvement on the wing? Did Ange mean purely growth as an AMF? Will we see a better RW Deki come Monday?

Always got to be a bit cautious when it comes to Spurs. There will come a point in the coming seasons where an extra push is needed to bring in "finishing touch" players. Those are the moments I'm wary of. Those will be the crux. Until that time, I'm just enjoying the cycle of this rebuild and enjoying the backing Ange is getting from club and fans. I can't do anything else other than enjoy the moment.
