I need to challenge something in the article.
Once we get to the part about the No-AI policy, the author starts talking like there is nothing you can do about AI in your code base. So here is what I will propose instead:

This is fairly reasonable actually. The work that has been done has been done. You spent your time as well on those commits. A review may still lead to code being removed or overhauled afterwords.

Largely? Trust. Respect as well. If if is established that you are not just unwilling to play by the rules, but are actively trying to decieve me, then you are a risk and cannot be allowed to stay.
Note how this stance also cleanly handles "I provided this image and found out later that it does not meet our policies". If a contributor comes and says "This tool I used implemented AI and I did not realize before contributing", the contributor can stay, since trust and respect were not lost.

Here is why that won't work: AI right now is not respecting consent. There is a lot of beating around the bush right now, but that is the heart of the issue. Consent.
Ignore the code. Ignore security.
AI, as developed, trained, advertised, deployed and used *does not respect consent*. Demanding the "No AI" policies be changed to accomodate some AI is another branch of that.
Sure, you can't easily enforce the No-AI policy. But having one is still a way of stating your terms and enabling appropriate responses from the community and your enforcers. it establisbes a boundry and a response. Even without perfect enforcement, that is an acceptable oimpact for a policyh. (bacvk button broker, sorry for typos)

I'm trying to pick a linux distro for my server. I see CentOS (RHEL based - not sure how I feel about bringing that home?) and Ubuntu (Debian Based, but I no longer trust the maintainers), but I'm not sure if those are options I like. What is everyone else using?

Honestly, even the stuff not technically abuse is a problem.

I am beyond notification fatigue and never read the newsletters I am subscribed to.
Just the LEGITIMATE use will cause too much flood.
