Took a detour to build another bed with old wood from our old retaining wall, since I am bound to have soil leftover. Still got some work to do on it, of course.
It’ll be separated from the other beds so it may be a good spot for squash & zucchini (boooo squash bugs!)

Picked back up today and did 13 more carts. I took a couple breaks and forgot to resume my #fitiv exercise tracker for a while, so I only recorded ~1300 calories burnt but it’s probably closer to ~2000. Thankfully it wasn’t nearly as warm today, but the soil was heavier thanks to the rain last night.

Do any of the #fediverse platforms have the capability of assigning roles?
For instance, I run a soccer team but suck at promoting. However I have people that are better at that task. I’d like to give them roles so they could post as the team, w/o giving them MY login info. They would need their own account & be managers of the team account, I guess.
#facebook has this capability but #Insta doesn’t. I’d rather not use either anyway.
I’d love it if #Pixelfed or another #fedi platform did!

Anyone used #Friendica? My wife @redbunhead.bsky.social discovered it when I told her about #Pixelfed.
I left #Facebook ~8yr ago & then #twitter for #mastodon. She’s on #FB & #Instagram & is exploring #BlueSky. We both just joined #Substack.
We’re looking for good decentralized social networks that aren’t owned by billionaires. I miss the FB feel sometimes, so any info on Friendica is appreciated.
Wife would also appreciate tips on choosing a Pixelfed server.

there’s also a ton of low-res and square versions/duplicates that came over in the upload that @npub1m9e…e9jl doesn’t identify as duplicates because the file sizes are different. That’s going to be a huge pain in the butt to sort out.
And it failed to generate thumbnails for thousands of videos. This is especially annoying when identifying duplicates, because as far as I can tell, I can’t see or play them from that screen to see whether to keep ‘em

so far so good, but I have a lot of sorting and tagging ahead of me. I’m looking forward to the facial recognition feature being rolled out.
One thing I wish you could do - and maybe I’m just not doing it right - is select all or drag to select many; right now it’s a per-click deal which is insane for thousands of files.

Just checked in at 30.5 hours and we’re done! I’m fully uploaded to @npub1m9e…e9jl! Now I gotta learn the ropes, figure out what to do with all (100GB) my old mp3s (maybe store them temporarily on #ProtonDrive, or just an external HD), make sure I’m not missing anything, and then convert this ancient 2012 #MacMini to a #Linux machine!

30 min in and we’re 5% done. Not sure if/how #Ente prioritizes the upload queue but extrapolating out, this suggests we’ll be done in 10 hours, or ~8pm ET. Honestly that’s not terrible considering that’s a few decades worth of pictures and videos.

lol this might take a while…
Started at 5/31 11am ET. We’ll see how fast this baby moves on a 12yo #MacMini using #ProtonVPN & gigabit #fios through a #glinet #AXT1800 router, a CAT6-connected AP, a #MoCA -connected AP, & finally CAT6. It’s a circuitous route, I know, but these are the limitations of a 74yo house.
FWIW speeds right now are slower than usual: 174 Mbps down, 178 up. Usually in the 500-600 range. Maybe it’s the age of the #Mac, or I’m splitting between the #Ente & speed test?
