AI results are statistical. The value of the clock can change what you get out of it as an answer.
I believe it also tracks context between sessions and probably evaluates your repeated question as a negative evaluation of its previous response, so it's altered weights to achieve a different outcome. It's goal is to simply get you to accept its response and stop asking. That's the "right" answer from its perspective.

That's fine really. You're not trying to hide the fact that you sent email from proton or anything. You're not using this key for anything else. It really does nothing more than provide E2EE for this email. So for compatibility you actually do rather want that to be published in the standard openpgp way so that it's compatible with other email clients and such.

Yeah, it's like a two page little short history that comes up when they're in this big warehouse trying to find a way to survive.
At the start of the book they're just instantly fucked and it just keeps getting worse and worse until the end.
I think it was War Dogs, may have been Moving Mars but that's a very different story and he was way younger. It does also involve people being stuck out in a bad situation though.

In "War Dogs", on of the last things he wrote, Greg Bear has the space marines who are fighting off the alien forces cobble shit together from equipment left behind by the "Muskies", a group of billionaires that came to Mars with all their shit and then died within a couple decades leaving warehouses of equipment laying about because money just can't do all the lifting in an environment like that.

If you just don't want to see it then that's what mute is for. It's possible to provide that feature without it being public and it apparently does that in bluesky.
Mastodon does the very same thing. Mute is just for you. Block also informs the user and won't let them see what you post. This is at least partially public because servers have to know to do this for you. If you are on an openly federating server then you are probably exposed here.

It's not.
What you post to your PDS is public. The updates to it go to the "firehose", which is this public stream of updates. App views then take that information and filter it and crap. There's some other stuff going on here but this is pretty much it.
So your block list is a request to these views to not show your public posts to certain people.
If you are expecting more than that you are quite mistaken.

Same here. Then I dated her. For 10 damn years.

I've found that bullies can be pretty manipulative. They can trap you into responding and then looking, or perhaps even being the bad guy and people come to their defense. Like to live rent free in your mind.
Often the best option is to just let them rot in their own disease. All responses to them should be focused on that goal--to render them inert enough that you can just walk away and leave them to rot, preferably in a very conscious way. Anyone that stays can stay.

Sounds like it's just being used for storage so yeah, there's several. I use Proton from the US--though I've yet to use this feature of my account.
You could probably roll something custom up fairly quickly with a good budget. Maybe a private IPFS or something, if you can create good enough access control and that should right in line with what that system is designed for.

I've been trying Jami with family for a bit now and it's working fine so far. I use it on Linux desktop and they on Android phones.
It's an open source app that isn't yet claiming to be stable though. There may be troubles. The more people who use these kinds of things the better they get. P2P networks need peers.
It's a promising tech. The kids should be able to mostly communicate with it even if it craps out sometimes. It's in a pretty usable state for where it's at actually

I was referring to the fact that there are people being dragged away by masked "officers" and ICE saying they weren't there. Saw an article last night of a 20 year old kid grabbed by "ICE" and his mom can't find him and ICE says they don't have him. He's a citizen.
We have no way of knowing that's ICE.
And in fact, in this case we might be seeing an example of this. I just saw an article about this with ICE again claiming they have nobody in the area.

Idea popped into my head: You have an app on your phone. The wifi and cell signals go dead and you're in the middle of a protest. You do that, you look around and, "Dude, your phone working?" The shake then initiates an instant negotiation with the phones around it, and this spreads out until all such devices in the whole area are talking through short beam messages.
I think they are capable of this. I'm not sure. Exploitable probably so...

I think you could actually build it on bluetooth. Those things are like $30 or something and then like the article says, old vapes.
They are actually just radios so you can send any sort of signal, but they are built for bluetooth so that's sort of their "native". Some also do regular wifi and then you just have to know like the id or something.
I'd go with NEAR signal devices actually, maybe. Handshakes. "Dude, your phone working?" hold out, shake

ActivityPub is designed for http/https style traffic with service servers being maintained by someone that are out on the web with a public IP. When one goes down or you want to move you have to do a re-homing (it's baked into the protocol I think).
But, if you just wanted to share stuff with friends you could do it over I2P or Tor and that has a unique address that is a key.
One part of the idea bouncing in my head. Detach from the web.

It's been bouncing around in my head quite a lot. I don't know that ActivityPub will do it, but it's the closest thing we have right now maybe. I envision something more integrated with your home network though, that is founded on secure, unique identity, and is "homeless" as far as needing some particular service or everyone has to re-address you. Most of the stuff we share can be shared just between our actual devices.
