So I did another experiment and redirected the crawlers to a ~10GB file. This was a brief experiment, but it is reassuring to know my setup can stream 300+Mbit/s without ill effects!

After receiving the first LLM-generated pull requests, I have decided to blanket no longer look at those. When studying a PR, I take into account who made it, and if they've previously been careful developers. LLM-generated code I have no idea about, and the amount of scrutiny required is just too much. Because I have to assume you have no idea what you are doing.

Software these days is not the painstaking work by people like @npub1cm0…enqe or @npub10ny…582h or @npub1p66…ee02 who write the best code they possibly can. thing is, if you follow the history of (small) nuclear power, the promise is always that THIS design will be safe, simple, affordable AND run on fuel that we actually have. And it always turns out you can't get all of these at the same time. Molten salt has proven to be VERY tricky for example. By now, you need to be a believer to assume that this time it will work.

Was forced to install the Miele app because it is the only way to tell the washing machine to clean itself. Many EU member states are arguing for forcing the American WhatsApp to inspect all our photos and links, using AI. If the AI is in any “doubt” if this might be child pornography, your photo, location, phone number & other details get reported to Europol and a local police force. There is this world where people assume the US government would ask Europeans for permission to spy on them. "Dear Microsoft Luxembourg employee, please allow us to copy the Luxembourg government data". This is of course not how any of this works. Yet people & many journalists weirdly assume it does.

Alarming as it is, the article below is still not alarming enough! Microsoft France here claims they've never seen a CLOUD ACT request for French government data. Perhaps true. However, under the FISA section 702 & EO 12333, Microsoft is still mandated to deliver such data to the NSA, and Europeans will never learn of that request.
