from the benchmarks I got from my talk about writing micro services in python several years ago, at the time, potential Async performance boosts vanished as soon as you hit the db.
I am sure there are some special cases of long-running queries that could justify Async and that running against a hosted postgres might have yielded different results than SQLite but... I'm not surprised.

in regards to community blog:
you said OPs: is it server limitations?
Is there something unfeasible in regards of the [approach proposed by Carlton](https://github.com/django/djangoproject.com/issues/1137#issuecomment-1866009157) (ie: loop over the approved feed once a day instead of relying on superfeedr)? Is the number of (still valid) feeds too high to do this even async?
Is it a technical hurdle in regards of the different formats that have been registered by people over the years that may not be compatible?

The biggest lifts are probably vision and willingness.
In our world, willingness tends to evaporate around 80% of done too...
But assuming both of those are present in a person/team. They are more likely to produce valuable content in a timely manner as opposed to if they are working on their vision, 1 hour a week during their free time

Main diff here is that the Lawrence Journal-Worls is a news business, not a tech company.
Maybe another company can try and take ownership of "the layer around core".
This is definitely something I would be interested in but... ROI on things I "sponsored" (ie, spent a lot of self-employed time working on) is marginal at best

I agree> I've done quite a bit of comparing between the Django Vs EmberJS communities. One of the biggest difference is the number of companies *paying* people to work on the project, which (except maybe Lincoln Loop?) no company does for Django.
Pure speculations: This might be linked to the python world in general and its origins.

So, for something like this to happen in Django, I would argue we'd need several things.
1 - someone (can be a team) who is willing and able to spend the time to come up with something like this
2 - luck (luck is always part of it)
3 - wide leadership support (like being offered keynote at multiple DjangoCon to present such tool)
4 - community support.
I can't think of many that I know in the Django community who would be able to muster all of the above

In abscence of funding, it is hard for people to trust "the thing" and adopt it widely.
I'll mention Django-Admin2 which, I would argue is a somewhat much older version of what Flux is.
It never really took off (same as Django-Grapelli), never got official support that I know of (ie: something like being offered keynote on a recurring basis) and is now relegated to support Django 2.x at most (last time I checked)

And IMHO there is also conservatism (which, still IMHO seems to be fading now) about what features should Django have. I do have memories of having a 3-liner PR being shut-down because "then the Django core team will have to maintain those 3 lines".

There is also community. The python community in general is more of the mind that there should be one library for each need that everyone collaborates on (with the occasional gate-keeping) where the php community is more like 100 libraries for each need with slightly different features, chances that one of those libraries will actually be great is higher (chances all of them will be crap because nobody collaborates is also high).

Could the answer to the "why" simply be "funding"?
Laravel is based on symfony (developed by Sensio Labs)
I didn't dive into the details on how he got there but Caleb is a "full time creator" who (to simplify things) is paid (mostly through sponsorship?) for exactly this kind of project.
AFAIK, the closest thing we got to that in the Django world are Channels (kick-starter) and DRF (sponsorship after the fact).

thanks for the reference. We tried to build one last year but it didn't work that well. But now I see the reducer on this kit, I understand why.
Also, we taped an old phone (connected to wifi) to the neck of the gutter cleqner and started a video call. It works quite well to check for debris

I'm curious to hear about that. I've been rendering multiple partials in#htmx for a bit now but the way I do it feels messy. I'm curious about hearing how others do it
