I'd also like to point out that a democracy is a place where the people jointly own everything. In a real democratic system, (unlike the US) the government would have the ability to allocate any and all resources as they see fit by a simple majority vote. This is specifically why liberals (in the classical sense) do not want a true democracy. They design governments that appease the people, without actually needing to do what the people want. See the Federalist Papers.

furthermore, communism is an economic philosophy, not a governing philosophy. This is a common confusion as many communists even conflate "communist" with Democratic Centralism (the governing system of the USSR).
Even if we take, for the sake of argument, that Democratic Centalisum was a bad design, it is still not the same thing as communism.

We use "Communism" intentionally. The word isn't poisonous, it's being poisoned; a critical distinction.
Running from a "poisoned" word just allows the capitalist to divide us while they pour poison onto whatever we call ourselves.
Second, people who we align with have a positive view of communism, while problematic individuals have a negative view. This helps by a type of recruitment natural selection.

Sortition: a democracy where decision makers are selected at random.
It reduces factions and corruption by eliminating career politicians. Unlike direct democracy the entire population does not need to engage all issues at all times (freeing resources). No elections = no campaigns, no campaign finance.
It has many of the benefits of democratic centralisum, without some of the drawbacks.

The more "worthy" a human, the more they deserve; in both power and resource. The unworthy deserve less. In practice, subjugation, suffering, and death. It's the same core philosophy.
