Just took this photo of the area adjacent to my pond.
I came up with the idea of the beaded ball tree after the election as a way to channel my energy at a very depressing time for me. It really helped. Every time I look at it, I immediately get distracted from negative thoughts.

Here is the lindera from a distance.
The colors are electric until they turn a uniform beige. They remain on the tree until spring when they will all fall off within a matter of days.

Always return your compost (decomposed foilage and twigs) back into the soil after an appropriate composting period.
This means making a plan to collect the remains of plants and eventually place that back into the soil. Don't just let plant residual decompose where it will not make it's way back into the soil.
If your garden supports a lot of plants, you need to replace at least the amount generated from that garden back into the bed.

Every year I over-winter succulents.
In the spring, I remove them from their pots and place them between pockets of rocks, shells, and driftwood inside this concrete fountain.
They thrive.

It has less caffeine than coffee. I have been using it for about 2 months. I noticed benefits right away. No problem sleeping.
The taste is the biggest drawback for me, however, I find myself wanting it despite that.
I have lipedema and need to find natural ways to increase my metabolism. It has helped a lot in this regard.
