Pulling the trigger and installing #Solus #Budgie on my #Thinkpad #Linux laptop. It was a tough choice between that and #ZorinOS, but I think #Solus' design is a bit more forward thinking, and it doesn't seem that much heavier than #ZorinOS.
This is a #T410, an old laptop, so it'll be interesting to see what it's like to run a modern OS on such an old machine (I was previously running an old #Lubuntu distro on it).

I should just buy the two programs I’ve been trying to find free alternatives for but lack great replacements, #VirtualDJ and #FLStudio. #MIXXX is okay but slightly janky and doesn’t fully support my controller, and #Cakewalk seems okay but is lacking measure lines in the region viewer or whatever so I think that can make it hard for me to make sure that my loops and notes are onbeat. (It also lacks some of #FLStudio’s effects but I’m sure that if I had the time and energy to spend I could find free plugins but, well, I don’t lol)
I have the money, I’m not really spending it on anything else.

We in the West are utterly cucked and are loath to approve of war tactics. We think war shouldn’t be done if it can’t be clean, so there really isn’t a way for #Israel to do what is necessary to get rid of #Hamas that doesn’t make us mad to some extent. There is too much international pressure fight now for it to get any worse. If they can turn on the water (I suspect #Hamas has sabotaged the waterways in #Gaza), I think they will do that before their ground invasion, which I’m expecting sometime within the next 48 hours or so, especially if #Hamas releases those 50 additional hostages as rumored.

It’s also interesting that #TimPool doesn’t think that #Israel’s blockade is a war crime. Like, he has a great point, that it really shouldn’t be #Israel’s job to give #Gaza food and water since they’re an independent state, technically, and not a part of #Israel, but starving civilians is still, as I understand it, a violation of the #GenevaConventions.
I think the only way you get out of such a claim is by saying that it’s #Hamas’ fault that #Gaza doesn’t have water because they’ve failed to build up the proper infrastructure despite having the ample opportunity to do so, which is actually true as they have bragged about destroying, for example, water infrastructure provided to them by the #UN.

Listening to #TimcastIRL and I can’t believe that everyone is arguing against their guest #PrestonParra and saying that they should be continuing to bomb #Gaza rather than switching from bombs to the #IDF’s planned ground invasion. The bombing campaign clearly leads to more collateral damage and is less precise.

My criticism is of your logic here, and whether or not you feel the need to mock my religion doesn’t affect the validity of my response.
Cain would have used something else to kill Abel if he didn’t have a rock, like a club. Your reply makes sense if Abel also had a rock, or if Cain used a rock to kill like 15 people at once somehow, but that’s not what happened in the story.

I’m pretty sure that I’ve condemned what #Israel has done before, as I have never been a fan of their government. I’m not familiar with how they’ve treated the people of #Palestine in general, but I do know that they’re heavy-handed and decreasing democracy within the country, are authoritarian and to my knowledge oppress #LGBT people to some extent as well.
While I haven’t condemned much of what they’ve done following #Hamas’ attack against them, as I can understand why they’d do it and they have limited options when it comes to conquering the very grave and legitimate and immediate threat of #Hamas (although I am considering condemning their siege, and this morning noted that sieges are against the #GenevaConvention), I’ve also (softly, and made sure to say it’s just a theory since I have no evidence) repeatedly accused the state of allowing this attack to happen intentionally as a bid to either unify the nation around #BibiNetanyahu (which I have mentioned in direct parallel to how #GeorgeWBush got popular after the 9/11 attack, and pointed out this afternoon has happened as he got the major opposition party #NationalUnity to rally around him, who I presume either he or the state of #Israel has mistreated in their efforts to slowly snuff out the remaining lights of democracy in #Israel), or in order to justify more aggressive attacks against #Palestine, which I specifically called a “black mark” and something that, if true, they should be held accountable for once the war is over.
So there’s plenty of complain about when it comes to #Israel, even ignoring their land dispute with #Palestine. I admit that I am relatively ignorant and trying to learn more on my own, but even though I’d posit that #Israel is probably the best, most moral, most peaceful, and most democratic nation in the immediate region, they are still at the very least bad, if not awful, as a state, to the extent of which that no western society that values democracy and freedom should be supporting financially, at least without some very stringent conditions (which is something I have said since the violence happened), and I would advocate for the #USA pulling all support for #Israel entirely once the war is over and #Hamas is (hopefully) defeated.
All of that said, there is absolutely nothing that #Israel has done that justifies #Hamas’ escalations, at the very least, if not their attacks here.
