unlimited storage for free isn't possible, def not if you want something privacy focused. I think it's more realistic to think about the amount of storage you currently need and calculate how much you think it'll grow and take that into account.
Also if you're a non-profit various platforms offer discounts (not free, but still).
I doubt it, but maybe ask thegoodcloud (dutch nextcloud hoster) if they can offer something special.

I forgot to post it here, but I found it really cool how #Nextcloud during their Hub 10 announcement livestream actively pointed out that they spend most of their time on fixing bugs and improving stability.

And the excuse of 'having to maintain a peertube server' is one.... just have a company host it (like @npub1lja…84s0 )
The added bonus is that you ca have peertube embeds on the nextcloud site which will never cause tracking/ad problems

OH WOW huh.
I have #KDE Connect installed, which links your phone and Linux PC for controlling media, etc.
I also have a Firefox addon that gives KDE Connect more info about my browser activities.
But what I just realized this morning is pretty freaking cool:
When you're watching a video in Firefox, you can pause/resume it from the KDE Connect app. Plus, clicking the notification opens the same YouTube video on your phone... cool!

my framework 13 upgraded to amd when it became available, has been pretty good so far honestly.
(I'm running nixos on it).

I'm probably "that guy" but whenever i see something is chromium based, I suddenly don't care anymore.
I don't want to contribute to chrome's monopoly on browser engines. So currently all i'm looking at is Firefox, Zen (firefox based) and maybe Orion (webkit based which i'm also not a fan of tbf, but it's made by the people from @npub1zq5…dlp2 and they do seem to be cooking some good stuff with it. so keeping an eye on it)

Here's some changes It'd suggest:
- Add @npub1t2q…n4vh to the gmaps alternatives. it's by far the easiest osm based maps app
- Add @npub1c4m…wtqs auth for google auth alternatives. it's much more feature rich and it's foss
- add @npub1zq5…dlp2 to the search engines. They're privacy respecting * one small note is that they do utilize google as one of it's search indexes that it uses, so you'd still be giving google some money technically (had to mention it)

devils advocate: They know their code isn't good enough to be included in the kernel itself, so they want to rewrite before that happens. this license allows them to prevent from someone else putting the code in and then going "wow, this toxedo code sucks" and then tuxedo having to go "well yeah, it wasn't ready for kernel merging yet"

just so you know: most people don't appreciate just using AI images for the sake of using ai images.
Most people prefer that you just create a simple image yourself instead of AI

tbf, I've never actually seen that happen even though I understand that theoretically it's possible.
Plus everyone gets a notification once any message edit is done. And you can see an edit history.
I don't think it's being abused much if at all tbf. But that's just from my experience

Q: What's a good Mastodon (or other I suppose) that I could make an alt on which has a massive text limit? (I want to send people alt text suggestions, but my instance char limit is WAY too low)
