I thought it was a new film that had been delivered, but it’s something a little different. 👀
This was the last book by Jasper Sharp on Japanese cinema, which I was missing as I bought his other books when they came out.
It seems to have finally gotten a reprint as it was going for a lot of money several years back.
Since I watched Red Classroom by Ishii Takashi this past weekend and it has a commentary track by Jasper, I went looking if he had released any new books as of late and thus stumbled on this reprint.

Which is the Belgium internet security service for these kinds of things, who then scan the mail, look for malicious code or links and then contact the local ISPs to block said URL, so that when unsuspecting people click on it, they get an error page saying it was blocked due to fraud.

Of all the things to be personally hurt by. 😂
All this tells me is that voicing our opinions of how much this AI garbage sucks and how vehemently we reject it all, really is getting through to these ghouls and is indeed making an impact on some level.

Ok this might sound really weird, but can someone help me find the original Ghostbusters audio track but dubbed in Japanese?
I have the film a bunch of times from the various rereleases.
As people keep recommending listening to a film that I’m familiar with and use it as comprehensive input.
And the best example I can think of if the original Ghostbuster. 😅

It might be a long shot, but I have to try.
If there is anyone out there with a scanner, who has issue 11 of Total! magazine, would you be willing to scan a part of a page for me.
Below is the cover of this issue as well as the affected page.
A previous owner has cut out a coupon on the opposite side.
That side is no issue as the ad is reprinted in the following issue as well, which I have, so I can replace that easily.
The problem is page number 61, where the bottom review for a Super Nintendo game is also gone.
If anyone can get me a clean scan of this part, I'd be able to complete this magazine without any missing sections.

I tried that the last time and they simply don't accept that unless it's something like exemption for diplomats, re-import of for personal gifts.
As none of this is the case, they claim that the IOSS number need to be digitally sent to them before they have the package in hand.
I can clearly see the number on the picture provided, but they don't care about that and they won't accept it to be sent digitally anymore.
only option is to pay or have the package sent back.

Oh great.
Just got another customs charge and additional fee from the second eBay package from Japan.
This time I paid €36 for it, including the €8 or so original customs charge.
And now local customs want me to pay an additional €31.62.
This is such fucking bullshit.
If there is anything this dump of a country is actually good at it's scamming people... I hate it here so damn much...

My superpower is pure stubbornness. 😅
I’ve only ever used flatbed scanners, so yeah. Most pages need to be scanned at least twice just get rid of most of the spine blur.
Then additional top and bottom scans for parts that got cut off as well as even more spine scans to fix all the blur and edit those parts manually into the pages so that it’s impossible to see that each And every page wasn’t done in one go. 👀

It’s annoying having to spend so much time on a single issue but it that means being able to preserve a hard to find magazine, it’s all worth it.
I’ve been working on a king of newspaper game publication that someone sent me.
It’s only 1 issue but it’s taking tons of time to put back together.
Each page needs 6 different scans and I need to put all those parts back together manually as photomerge doesn’t work on there. 😅
It’s gonna be a while longer before it’s finished

I’ll definitely keep that in mind.
I did have a couple of issues of ONM that were really bad, but I ended up getting a donation of magazines from a kind soul and new copies of those were amongst them. 😊

it never occurred to me to try that!
These are very mild though so I’ll be able to get clean scans by scanning each page from the right and then from the left.
One issue has it a bit worse so I’ll have to debind the pages, which is some I really hate doing.
But I don’t see any other way.

I really wanted to have a magazine out this weekend with some 3DS coverage, so I went to the final handful of issues of Official Nintendo Magazine, only to realise that about 5 or 6 of them, which I've scanned about 3 years ago, and are waiting to be edited, must have been stored in a damp location before I bought them.
So I needed to rescan those with a lot of care to not have the pages warped.
Just put the finishing touches on the first one, so it should be good to go for tomorrow. 😊

Didn’t expect to get name dropped at all.
I do hope that they realise that they can use any and all magazines that I have worked in the past and the ones that I’m releasing in the future as well.
As it’s been long enough ago that I talked to someone, that I actually can’t remember the specific conversation.
