I'm pleased to announce that the Colony Mission to Mars has been a resounding success.
Facing trouble at home, our wealthiest citizens decided to find a new home more conducive to their philosophies. We all wished them every success and worked hard to help them realise their dreams.
Three months ago they launched their journey to the Red Planet.
The new crater on the Martian surface is a fitting memorial to their efforts.

The great oak dieback of 2053 threatened the existence of the squirrel. The warming world had no place for acorns.
But a world without squirrels is inconceivable. At first they tried replacing the oaks with the tropical macadamia tree, but the nuts are almost impossible to crack.
Kenji came up with a solution. A cyborg squirrel equipped with advanced nutcracking technology.
They are proving to be popular pet, feeding both themselves and their human owners with nuts!

Fred scanned himself, but the readings kept fluctuating.
He was definitely having an identity crisis.
His body was metal and plastic, only his head and arms were still human. His arms would go soon, those life affirming tatts would disappear and another moment of his life gone.
He didn't even have his hair.
All that time in the gym, the hours of grooming and the skin care routines. Who was he?
Was he a lover or a fighter?
Fred looked down.
Definitely not a lover then.

@npub1nxt…055a In my first year of high school we were given Colin Thiele books to read and I'd already read a tonne of them when I was younger and had grown past them. So sad in that case. I preferred SF and (in those days) military fiction, so the assigned books were generally not my thing.

Anastasia hoped the answer was one.
The LED array was inconveniently located far from the habitat module, but at least it got her away from the others.
Gus was driving her insane, but out here it was just her.
Well, her and all the eyeballs through telescopes supposedly staring at the adverts screening on the array, but best not to think about that. The money was good and it wasn't like she had a dick to enlarge anyway.

@npub1nxt…055a I wondered why they wouldn't let us flush the acetone down the sink in the chem labs at university. Turns out it is a powerful mutagen.
Loretta's family had been running a nail salon for generations and the results were starting to show.
Sure they looked a bit different, were shorter than average, only had one eye and lacked other normal human features, but as long as the customers were happy, so were they.
