@npub1sen…ycjl That's not a bad plan. Although it would probably mean for me that I'd never get to buy another notebook :). I would also worry about diverging so far from a chronological organization, but maybe that doesn't matter.

While updating my subscriptions spreadsheet (a sorry state, needing one of those), I realized that I have several listed as "current", for which I'd paid for a year in advance, but don't intend to renew. Would you consider those "current" or paid for and done? I'm thinking the latter, because it moves my totals lower :).

Someone might suggest that you should use plastic Patterson reels for film development. If that happens, nod politely and then quickly get as far away from that person as possible before they give you even more terrible advice. Go buy some Hewes metal reels on your way home and live a happy life.

I took a digital camera to a family event recently. When I returned home, I imported the SD card into Lightroom and just sat and stared at a wall of nearly identical thumbnails. Hundreds of them. The thought of wading through them and picking the "keepers" sucked the life right out of me.

Coffee mug (2015). This photo is one of the reasons I love film and film cameras. It's grainy and there's some motion blur, but I love it. I probably wouldn't have taken it if not for wanting to use up some film. A pleasant surprise.

This Leica M3 was made in 1960. I bought it in 2012. I had DAG give it a complete CLA in 2019. It's the smoothest, nicest-feeling camera I've ever used. It's also a beautiful, timeless work of art and engineering marvel, imo. https://glass.photo/jbaty/1I26Pb18GHpQ078s7jXux1

I'm mad at color film right now. All of mine is quite expired, so I thought I'd find an inexpensive film because I'm not paying $15+/roll of Portra. Decided on Kodak Gold 200. Went to B&H and it's around 10 bucks a roll. Fine, I thought, until I saw that I ordered rolls in 2021 for under $6/ea. I mean, I'm used to film being expensive, but ugh.

Finally working through my stock of expired Portra. Here's my dad and my grandson celebrating dad's 83rd birthday yesterday. This was taken with the Nikon F100, which might be the best bang for the buck even today.

I also still have a few rolls of expired Portra 400, which is too good (and expensive) to trust to any old camera, so it goes in the F100, which I haven't used in a very long time. A good reason to bring it out! I seem to be in a colorful mood today.

OK the Ministack is plugged into the Mac Mini. It contains 2 drives/volumes: a 2TB NVMe SSD and an 8TB HDD. I only want to name them once, so I'm sitting here staring at the icons, stuck. Do I name them after what/where they are (e.g. MinistackSSD and MinistackHD)? Or should I name them after purpose (e.g. WorkingFiles and Media)? Both sound dumb to me right now. What would you name them?

Found this 30GB 5th Generation iPod (2005) in a drawer. The screen is failing but it otherwise works fine. Goes great with my ginormous headphones.

Well, I promised myself a 4x5 self-portrait today. I shot 4 sheets and missed focus on all of them. This was the most successful of the lot. I like to include the trigger bulb in the shot. Extra film-ey that way maybe?

I spoke on the phone last night with a gentleman who traveled to Spain with his new Leica M11 and 35mm Summilux and shot nothing but JPGs the entire time and was completely happy. I lost sleep last night thinking about that.
