Not always. I have to stay away from my family, cos they still hope (think) I made a mistake, and maybe one day I realise this and go back. I've not spoken to my mum, for a year and a half now. 21 years transitioned, and cos I mentioned my depression was ticking up again the other year, she was back with the "hopeful" question of did I think I'd made a mistake.
Fuck . That. Shit.
So no, just cos people know trans folk, doesn't mean they'll come out to bat for them.

Yeah, yesterday morning, The whole site was down, which I assumed was for an "upgrade". I hope it all settles down soon.
Just disappointing to know Mastodon.Scot has a single point of failure in Cloudflare, outwith it's control.

I see Mastodon.scot has been hit with the #Cloudflare issues. Earlier I was getting Cloudflare 500 server error issues, now images won't load in the feed.

I know, I'm trying to fit too much into condensed toots.
but "Also, fuck car owners" isn't going to win support. They are a lifeline to many people. Take the Highlands of Scotland, cars are pretty much a requirement to get anywhere,due to the distance needing to be travelled. Also,for many disabled folk,it can be the only source of freedom for them to get out and about. And we all know how well public transport works for the disabled. And cycling is out.

It is, but many can't see the bigger picture, they haven''t the time or energy to really explore it. Plus, the changes needed don't come fast enough. And people look at each change in isolation, not as part of a far bigger picture. So they look at the green policies that they do get through in local council, like the bike lanes that they don't use, and don't see a benefit. Infact they see the opposite. And that's why Greens struggle.

I do believe the electorate in general is far too "hot-button" to vote for their own interests. The vote share for Reform is a symptom of that. Many are too busy worrying about their own situation, and angry at the constant stress they are under, to defend the minoritised groups along with themselves. (2/2)

No, I get your point. I have actually voted green in the past. But I'm more relaying some of the thought process of the majority of working electorate, who frankly don't care for anyone who doesn't work for whatever reason, including disabled,and other minority groups. I have a friend, a bus driver who constantly complains about cycle lane schemes messing up traffic, and to most, disalbled/minorities are "out of sight, out of mind". So yes, (1/2)

, but when you see the quality of deliveries vs what people would pick at the supermarket for themselves, thats where it falls apart. We've all experienced short dated items in a delivered weekly shop, vs the longer date, or better quality we'd pick going shopping ourselves.
Then there's tradesmen too, who need their vehicles to carry a lot of tools and parts for jobs. Not public transport friendly. These are just some of the reasons (2/2)

Unfortunately, it is a big sticking point. Motorists are already monetised up the wazoo, and the Greens would happily increase that to discourage cars, so it's seen as a cost issue, with people who are already struggling.
Add to that, the reason people use cars, isn't just to transport them about in minimal time, it's the load carrying capacity too. Now you might say, but they can get it home delivered now, which is true, (1/2)

It's probably because the Greens have an image problem.
They are too radical,and don't meet the people where they are at. They demonise cars too much, thinking everyone will cycle everywhere, when there are many where this isn't practical, nor safe.
The changes they want are massively unpopular to a majority car owning society,and until they understand the reasons behind this, they'll struggle to get mass support. Public transport isn't the answer either.

No, the original o introduction for copilot+ was 4 months ago, causing the original outcry, especially as it wasn't secure. This is recall now getting baked into windows explorer in the latest update, with no possibility of removal, or it breaks windows. You can only 'disable' it, and we know how often Microsoft respects your choices to turn data collection systems off, don't we?
I'm glad I don't have to deal with their bullcrap anymore.

Its time for MP salaries to be tied to minimum wage. Then see how long it takes them to raise it. Oh. and it should be zero hours contract too, so when they disappear for days, they don't get paid. They'd soon fix employment rules then
