MARCH 31: Though I have errands today (Sam's Club, pet store mainly), the plan is to cut all of my 2025 content from the chia.owly.net page and put it into a separate "archive" file. I will then (not today I'm sure) only have approx 3 months to work with. In addition, as time goes on, I need to simplify as there are so many posts/updates on that page, each of them having a ton of code and data. So lots of the colors and little pretties and other flotsam and jetsam, going back to Jan. and then onward, won't be "clogging up the pipes". Or, in the support tech's words, "Your index page is extremely large and that causes the excessive memory usage...[some suggestions I don't yet understand, and]...I strongly recommend that you reduce the number of posts this page contains." So that's my plan, starting by reducing the number of posts on the page as I described above. Then I can start updating again and taking the time and brain effort for the "good stuff" (dailies, Don's posts, music, etc.) while I do the rest. And so it goes...

Trouble In Paradise Again!
After yesterday's apparent success, this morning I was unable to work on my main site page again. Finally late in the afternoon, after trying everything I could find online, I turned to my (wonderful!) host's tech support. They got me up and running again but it is very temporary; this page needs an overhaul. And I will be working on this page every chance I can this week, or until I get done what I need to do.

I actually don't because I have parrots. (Think canary/coal mine when it comes to things in the air.) Plus, feathers are highly flammable. However, I used to, and I liked mostly spicy and warm scents, would probably love your choices!

March 27, 2026 @ 12:40 Good afternoon family & friends❣️ I woke up about 90 minutes ago to bright sunshine and hot water. (When Pete hears me stirring he often heats my tea water for me and covers it so it's ready to start steeping when I get to the kitchen.) Looks like our high today will be 32°F and clouds moving in later. The grands will be here after school for a while but other than that no plans today. Which is good, I really need a "down" day to regroup. I'm not sure what I will be posting today, meme hunting is fun so of course Friday funnies. My sweet 11YO granddaughter Lyra, after suggesting Saturday Sea Creatures, made me a chart with suggestions for "meme days" covering 5 weeks when I mentioned that I wanted to freshen things up a bit around here. March 23, 2026 @ 08:13 Good morning family & friends❣️ It's a cold one here, 32°F with an expected high of 34°F. I don't think I'm going anywhere today anywhere though. Had a fun weekend with the grands, and will post pictures later; they'll be back after school for a while, as they do on Mondays and Fridays. March 21, 2026 @ 15:15 (! - I couldn't have planned this, after 20:20 last night!) Good afternoon family and friends❣️ Well today got off to a rough start 🤕😵😣😴 but we're getting through it! The grands are here, their dog went home this morning when Pete took Leelan over to take care of the livestock. When they got back Pete took a good long nap and I have been working on this blog for nearly 4 hours! That's how it goes with kids around right? Lyra made some deviled eggs - delicious! - and Luna is taking a nap. Leelan is playing something on his Nintendo Switch while Umpa watches a movie. Lyra is now creating some beautiful artwork on her sketch pad. So it is (now, at least) a quiet and laid-back kinda day. Very dark and cloudy out and there's definite chill in the air - my phone says it's 42°F and feels like 35°F. And it is only beginning! As I'm able I will working on the house and yard on every nice day we have. March 18, 2026 @ 14:38 Good afternoon family & friends❣️ I hope you are having a good week. By the time I got up after my usual 10-12+ hour nap Pete had already left for his appointment; he just texted that he's on his way home now. I used the alone time to choose and work on my worship song to record later today, and have something to eat. (I'm doing an experiment which I will write about on my other site when I see how it went.) And then I've been working on the morning updates and mini-devo/study. I do plan to also do Wednesday Wags, once I get some more meme hunting done. It is very chilly in the house today though in the mid-30's outside but it is going to be warming up for a few days. Leelan just texted that the parking lot at his school, which had become a large pond after all the rain over the weekend, is now frozen solid. (Were I his age I'd be getting my ice skates - we had ice skates as kids - and going back for the rest of the afternoon!) Pete is at an appointment but should be back soon. March 15, 2026 @ 22:00 Good evening family & friends❣️ I slept most of the day, when I got up I recorded my Sunday Selections (a much simpler version than typically), and then got Don's Guest Post up. Weather was much worse when I got up than when I went to sleep, and is supposed to get violent during the night with winds in the 70-80mph range, depending on which weather guesser one asks. I have never experienced winds that high but hope I sleep through them...if I'm awake I will play music through my headphones. So many people I know and love are in much worse paths of it today and tonight - Gwen & Don in KY, my sisters-in-Christ Cathy and Annette, my bestie Heidi in MO, J&E in another part of MI - praying for all of them today and through the night...I will see you tomorrow, please be safe among the weather no matter where you are❣️🙇‍♀️🥱🛌🌛

Pileated woodpeckers are huge. We had a family them where we last lived, the male grew quite tame with my husband actually and would come within a few feet of him. They are typically shy and though people often hear them, they'd rather not be seen. (I've heard of more sightings in the last few years though).

March 14, 2026 @ 13:37 Good afternoon family & friends❣️ Bright and sunny day here, mid-30s, before the "big storm" moves in later. No snow now, but we'll see what happens later. Zoey is here doing her thing - gotta love the sound of the vacuum sucking up debris, eh? Didn't sleep well, last night's experimental supper was excellent but my stomach, being used to animal-based with minimal plants, objected most of the night. However, it was worth it! I'm already thinking about what my next experiment will be. I'm thinking of alternating Caturdays with different Saturday content...good cat memes are getting harder and harder to find and I'm seeing other topics on my hunting expiditions that I'd like to try - just throwing that out there. Meanwhile, today I will gas up the bus when I take Zoey home, work on the hymns for tomorrow, clean cages (already cleaned the toilet - I don't expect anyone else to do that!) and whatever else pops up...enjoy your Saturday and I will see you later❣️🙌✝️🎶😆🥩🌿💐👴👵🐕‍🦺🦜

March 13, 2026 @ 20:48 Good evening family & friends❣️ Today was a good day, though I'm exhausted and ready for bed of course :). Did get my comments and emails caught up, did enjoy the grands while they were here; I'd picked up an 8-book set of Beatrix Potter books this week for 6YO Luna, and we enjoyed reading 3 of them together. The books also came with sticker sets and she enjoyed adding those too. Then I started our (Pete's and my) meal, as I've been craving Chinese food - or at least the American version of it - and was ready take a stab at it. The interesting result I reported on my ChiaChow chat site, with a photo (linked below). Then this evening I've been doing some meme hunting and will be going to bed as soon as I get the PoiBoiz tucked in. And that was my day. Pete had a ham club meeting and I got up shortly before he got home tonight. But I still had a chance to play my keyboard earlier and do some other things. I don't know about you, but I'm really caught up in Don's story, The Unsettling! I will be very sad when this one ends. Learning a lot too, because I know how he researches his subjects. March 12, 2026 @ 09:58 Good morning family & friends❣️ I woke up early today for several reasons: one is that I smelled Pete's breakfast cooking and it smelled delicious. Then I heard the discussion on one of his nets, where he learned that a friend had passed away. He was one of the handful of friends that Pete saw and had a relationship with outside of any group, and he - Pete - was pretty shook up. Plus, because I ate carbs yesterday, I was hungry. So here I am. Got my morning updates done, and cheated a bit by doing my photo post last night and setting it to "go live" this morning. I will get Don's guest post up later too, excited that it is chapter 3 of his original fiction piece, The Unsettling. I'm enjoying it a LOT! Other than that, it will be music, birds, grands, and WEATHER!!! A few days ago we were in the 70s. Today a storm will be moving in that will bring from inches to feet of snow/ice into the state...then on Sunday another system moves in that will be even worse (possibly MUCH worse!) than this one! Right now it is calm, sunny, and bright. Until this afternoon, unless the forecast has changed since last night; we will all know after it happens for sure, right? March 11, 2026 @ 19:34 Good evening family & friends❣️ I hope you've had a great day today! We have had a good one, went out to lunch where Leelan works with the 3 grands and that was a blast! I haven't eaten at a Cracker Barrel in probably 20 years; it has much larger menu than I remember, but the chairs are just as hard, so it all balances out hahaha! Really the food was delicious though, better than I remember. Then we dropped the kids off at home (their home), and Pete and I went to a thrift store where I bought a selection of containers in which to plant my succulents. Pretty excited about that! I did get photos today at the restaurant and also of how my plants are doing and the vessels I bought for them. I will share those along with my pictures from this morning in a photo post tomorrow. (Thursday Thotos? 🤔) I also got a couple of other things there - a long (midi-length) hoodie and a flannel nightgown that looks never worn to replace one of my mine that is VERY well-worn - then I'll have some "new" rags too, flannel makes the best rags. So that's it for my day, no appointments or plans tomorrow except 2 of the grands will be here for a while after school. So that's it for me today and I guess I will see you tomorrow, sleep well...good night❣️🙇‍♀️🥱🛌🌛

March 11, 2026 @ 12:36 Good afternoon family & friends❣️ Wow we had such storms overnight!!! The rain was heavy all night but the thunder and lightning were spectacular! The loudest and brightest that I think we've seen since we've lived here! Fantastic!! There's a "lake" out the back door now too, that had included our back yard earlier but has started to recede in the last couple of hours. I got a couple of photos which I will show below (here on my site); I also took a photo of the lovely gift I got from Zoey I had mentioned a couple of days ago. And an update on the 2nd number situation: I now have my texting number back and I am thrilled. It is a temporary set up but it works and I have some time to create a more permanent solution. So that's good. I'll be going out for a while this afternoon and will post Wed Wags and Wed Worship later today; I made the recording yesterday to save time since I knew I wouldn't be home enough to do it all today; just editing and uploading later. Last thing, I don't know if you have ever noticed but on lots of the Ain't That The Truth! updates I like to kind of group them according to categories for each day. Not always, but when I can. Today's category just happens to be "workdays" which happens to go with "Wednesday"...which means absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things, but, you, know...it's the little things... March 10, 2026 @ 20:41 Good evening family & friends❣️ It is a windy and cold evening as stormy weather is blowing in, we're expecting ice overnight. Pete has an appointment at 8:45 in the morning which may have to be rescheduled if the forecast proves true. Today I worked on tomorrow's music, picked up some prescriptions, and worked on getting my phone situation resolved per the suggestions given to me by their zendesk pro. The next step is up to them. And THEN I can port my 2nd line to a new carrier. Anyway I also stopped at a Walmart since I was in the area anyway and picked up a couple of things, and Aldi so Pete could get some more lamb. The meats he can eat are mainly ruminants and seafood but he will also eat rabbit. Lamb is a good clean ruminant for him. By the time we got home the sky was already getting dark and the winds were strong. So I'm about to take care of my PoiBoiz and then head to bed, and I will see you tomorrow.
