Also, if anyone has experience making any sort of berry-based alcohol that doesn't need some yeast or some bullshit like I got berries and I got sugar. That's all it's going in it.
I'd like it to be wine. It doesn't have to be wine.
There are some strange people here that do strange things. Maybe someone out here somewhere knows how to make blackberry wine or Scotch or I just don't care lol.
Somehow this all started with some people stepping on grapes and leaving it sitting. I don't think foot fungus counted as yeast. Clearly there is some sort of way this has been done before.
I will also look into it. It's not like it's going to come up immediately but it's on the to-do list.

It doesn't do hail here. I mean some places in the state. Yes, it does hail.
If it's ever bad enough here for that to be a problem storm wise it'll be fine because I will absolutely be dead.
Like it doesn't hail here. It picks up a house and throws it into another house. Or you know maybe it'll pick up a car and throw it 5 mi across the river or something into someone's house. Maybe no one's house. Who knows where the fuck it's going to go.
My problem is if it ever hits like that here it's going to throw those solar panels straight through me :)
I don't though. I don't know what to do about hail. I'm just going to keep a backup set in a storm shelter I haven't dug out yet, but you know long-term. That's my plan. Keep backups.
I mean hell. My original plan was to dig this thing out and live in it to start with. But you know that kind of went sideways.
These panels I have are extremely strong like I dropped all kinds of stuff on them. You know my deranged wife had to go out there with like a sledgehammer and only managed to bust one up because it was so much work.
The thing is when you don't have bills it becomes much easier to deal with situations that arise.
I was spending $200 a month on electricity.
These panels cost about that a piece.
Just on the panels I'll break even in 8 months.
Taking a bet the panels last longer than that.
Also any storm big enough to cause me problems would wipe out everything else too. Sometimes a week will pass after a bunch of storms power will still be out for many.
Doesn't even have to be a reason and it goes out all the time out here.
Whatever I spend on maintenance, I bet it's cheaper than their dumbass power grid.
Hell it's cheaper than a single electrician.
It's the Apocalypse. You kind of need to budget for that as American as that sounds.

Every time there's a drought. Guess what? Not a crisis, doesn't start melting down to my knowledge. I mean yeah, I'm sure people have been killed over these solar panels but you know they're just going to sit there family. They're just going to sit there and make free electricity until I die.

You just got to use a clean tarp and a bucket to harvest rainwater straight from the sky.
It rains so much there. You could probably just use the bucket, you got to put some sort of mosquito netting over it though or you're fucked.
Just you know, be mindful of birds and critters. I got critters that live on a roof so I keep the tarp. It doesn't hit the roof very much.
You don't want any of it coming off your roof at all.
You can use roof water for bathing and plants.
If you distill or boil it, you can drink it.
Empty the bucket water into 1 gallon containers, empty it into Gatorade bottles if not.
Must all be cleaned use soap I guess. But make sure you get all the soap off or you will have big problems.
In theory, water should keep for a while in 1 gallon containers. I don't know how long it'll last in the bucket before you got to clean the thing again.

If you have an uncontaminated bucket, you can catch the uncontaminated rain and put it into Gatorade bottles. For storage, I'm not sure how long it'll stay like that. I try not to drink roof water here.
I will also tell you that you can use a tarp. You will only be able to leave this tarp up when you're catching rain and you must also be sure it remains uncontaminated.
But if you have a clean tarp and you channel the rainwater not from a roof but from just the tarp and to said clean bucket. You can then take this and again store it further in bottles.
Again, just drinking from bottles. Will eventually contaminate them. It's rather complicated. Actually not getting dysentery that's what I learned from playing video games.
If you want to make damn sure you can just boil it afterwards.
There should be nothing wrong with it though if it goes straight from the sky.
I mean can't be worse than tap water if that's how it is here.
