I took this in 06 of it. At the time I was flying for Pacific Wings and... wow did some of our pax have some wild ideas about it then when we would fly over it coming in and out of PHNL.

I’ve complained some, I know, about MacOS 26’s bugs but, after trying Ubuntu 25.10 I’ll stop complaining about Mac.
In this latest Ubuntu not even the terminal works. It really is making apples latest OS’s look like works of art.

I went back to the UniFi Express a few months ago and they’ve been great. I think they just dropped a new WiFi 7 model too.
They’re the size of an Apple TV, have solid coverage and all the UniFi features.

Same here. I use a TON. When switching between Linux and Mac I actually spend a lot of time matching them up, as much as possible. On a daily basis, though, I probably have 50-60 I use for my normal work for everything from cut/paste to moving windows around and so much more. @npub1exv…3ch9

I’ve spent most of my tech career in open source. I’ve written some good code, but I tend to find my strengths are in developing teams and leveling-up the people on them so I currently work as a VP for small startup.
I care pationately about #sustainability and humane tech, even though I often find the definitions of both elusive.
My free time is spent reading, writing and enjoying the time I have with friends and family.

It truly is amazing how unreliable everything is today. For example, we have an $8,000+ projector system in the office. If it’s off for more than a few days we all wonder if it will even work again. That seems pretty normal with most tech and no one thinks twice about it.
When I was a kid though… “sure I’ve got an old screen in the garage from 20 years ago… it will work fine.” - and it did.
The level of enshitification and rot we accept as “normal” is truly horrifying.

The nice thing about Laravel is you can adopt anything. We’re using it as an API-only (basically headless) and have been experimenting with Lit.js. I think we’ll stick with React for now, but having the optionality is nice. @npub1jsf…yxnr

We’ve been trying to use this feature in my family for about 18 months. Apple’s default apps are SLOW to warn (for the user can be an hour or more later, for family with sharing can be days later). There are, supposedly, 3rd party apps that do better. We’ve been looking at options but I haven’t tried one yet.

I’m getting to the point where just saying something is open source isn’t a reason for me to use it. From bitwarden to wordpress and so many others, open source has become as abusive as proprietary tech. If it works for me I’ll use it but I’ve hit the point where, at a minimum, I won’t sacrifice usability just because something says it is open source today.

I think about this, and talk about it a lot. The US concept of “freedom” is really just free from any and all responsibility, legal or otherwise.
What worries me is that I see how hard the US is trying to export that idea to the rest of the world and, lately, seems to be doing well at it.

I used it for a long time, and still really enjoy it. There was something of a sweet spot where Electron meant that almost everything was working on it but most of those apps have stopped even supporting it with Electron and... eh. So frustrating.

Reverting my Framework laptop to just a code machine. I've tried to make it my personal daily driver yet I constantly have to go back to my Mac anyway, even for personal work, to handle apps and files I need to interact with people. I still love the Framework, and Linux, but it just can't be my daily driver for now. I have no doubt I'll revisit this, once again, in the future.
