I'm new to Nostr. This place feels unpolished, a bit janky, but very genuine. So far I see it to be panic-free and largely optimistic. Can't tell you how refreshing that is.
I never could stand Twitter. I ditched Instagram a year or two ago. YouTube is my main drug, but I find myself getting sick from it if I don't heavily curate the experience.
Nostr has my attention. I'm no coder, just a musician and artist. I hope I can help with it's growth though.

The #Nostr experience of a noob Day 2:
Primal hard-crashes my phone. Uninstall and reinstall. Same again a couple of hrs later. At least I know my nsec was written down correctly!
Installed Amethyst instead. A little slower but seems more feature rich.
Looking to switch to a wallet with NWC feature so I can zap others. Installed Phoenix wallet. I gather it has NWC but then discover it needs a bridge like Alby perhaps?
Installed Alby Hub on desktop. Alby requires purchase of a channel to use its own wallet. Can I use Alby to connect Phoenix without buying a channel?
Freedom continues to be somewhat confusing...

The #Nostr experience of a noob.
Day1: install Primal. Note down keys. Read a few notes. Cool, this works. Seems fun.
Another user tries to send me some sats. AHH. No wallet yet.
Try to set up Primal wallet. Nope. Failed to verify.
Look into alternatives. Wallet of satoshi.? Yep that's fine. Receive some sats for a post I made - this is very cool. Can't send any though... Wallet not linkable with NEC.
Begging to go down the Alby rabbit hole.
Freedom is hard.

The dumpster-fire that is Discord prompted me to try Nostr again yesterday. Took me about 10mins to see that this is the way forward. I'm looking though all the community apps now to find out how to migrate my music subscribers and my buddies over here.

I've been looking for #Discord alternatives and #Stoat came up as an open source possibility. Looks like their services are struggling to keep up with new users though.
Over here on Nostr I gather that #Flotilla might be the way to go. How does it measure up?

I recently bought this red beast and am still exploring how it integrated with the rest of my setup. One of my current projects is making a kit of percussion samples with the Spice and Edge semi-modular devices. Hoping to share progress soon.

I think the primary factor will be the tangible connection between creator and their art/product. If you can keep that human link it will appeal to other humans. There's a quality threshold to overcome, but after that, the human element will the differentiator for many consumers/buyers.
