Am I to be made to feel like an outcast, a pariah in the current shared reality to miss thee things, to want these things, to still remember these things?
I get really pissed off when I'm told or expected to "let these things go".
I remember "the before times (Mad Max)" and I will NEVER let that go.
This, they will never take away from me. I have a baseline: In truth, observable reality, and also in the arts from the "old days" that reflect this.

Once upon a time when I was young and Christmas and holiday season was in full bloom and the magic was everywhere....as a child the commercialization was everywhere.
Coke. Pepsi. Movie=Christmas vacation.
Imprinted MANY experiences in my youth.
Fantastic times! Beautiful times! Amazing times!
Then one day many years later I blushed over a story of Vanilla Coke and some @nprofile…feuu story time.
Never before has my mind went into full visualization story time beyond known levels I was unaware of.👀

Set goals and milestones for accomplishments.
Move forward towards those goals and priorities.
Complete them.
Then take time to honor self for achieving those goals and appreciate it up before throwing yourself towards yet another pursuit/quest.
There never exists that "one other thing" i need to get that will make things better.
I get it. Been there.
Start realizing your fruits now in the moment.
The chase distracts you from what is right in front of you.

Set clear goals and priorities. Track them . Achieve them. And literally mark down as completed. That thing=accomplished.
Getting lost in the chasing and pursuit of material things thinking "this thing will satisfy me" could just be leading you in the wrong direction for false fulfillment.
If you have already been in pursuit of such things and have obtained them....pause and embrace that and appreciate them. When is enough enough?
No amount of possessions solves this.

Late nights. Very late nights wrenching in dad's shop with brother and we dismissed this song at that time. Never cared for it at the time.
Holy crap! This brings back so many great memories during that period.

Forced to listen to 70'a music in my dad's shop while wrenching on cars and learning on an OCD level how to solve and fix those problems.
Saturday trips with dad to the machine tool distributor to pickup new tooling for fabrication projects. Stops at the Minit Mart for Pepsi and pepperoni sticks.
The popcorn cart at the automotive parts store. Along with the old school classic soda vending machine of GLASS bottled sodas that accepted coin change.
Yep! Best of times!

Born in the early 70's. Living through the 70's, 80's, 90's from youth to young man.
The best of times IMO. The best movies, music, job experiences, and the girlfriends and the summer vacations.... cruising for girls.
Many generations claim they had it best and that's unproven of course.
80's and 90's WERE THE BEST OF TIMES.
The friends.
The energy of LIFE and pursuit of love.
The emerging technology.
The memories.
The girls.
Footnote: The girls were the best.
