"It depends"
I *try* to work "alla prima", as in, I try to get it any painting done within a 24 hour time limit (more like 12) so that I don't have to wait an unknown amount of time (maybe a week, maybe 3, more, WHO KNOWS?) to do another layer (because oils are like that). There are some larger ones (and *certain* smaller ones :blobglare:) that need layers or more detail or I mess something up so they will necessarily take more time. So I don't really know exactly because I don't pay attention to time but this one was probably the only painting I painted that day - 4 hours, 6 maybe? :comfy_colleen:

If you wanted a serious response, (1) I am taken, in case you were unaware, (2) my physics work was optics (and programming) related and I am not particularly interested in returning to that sort of thing except in cases where I actually need that knowledge, (3) I am (almost) literally a hermit that lives in the woods and rarely interacts IRL with people 🍻

Reading through this thread backwards has been fascinating, and finally I reached where I've been tagged, but I don't think you're going to like my answer, because it's generally not uhhhhh manufactured (?) scents.
Some of the scents you've mentioned in soap are fine as long as it's light. YOU DON'T NEED MUCH. I knew guys that would absolutely bathe in soap, spray, and cologne and it hurt my nose and brain more than perfumed women, so now I can't stand some of those smells anymore. I don't know if I could pick out exactly which ones are which. Except Axe. Axe is the worst. Especially if they also smoke weed and try to cover it up by bathing in Axe (or any other) products.
You may or may not believe this, but there's a scent on breath and sweat that comes out when the guy either (1) fasts, (2) eats a LOT of onions, peppers, and eggs, (3) is on an atkins/ keto diet (again, probably related to (2) and maybe (1) since it could be something released during ketosis?). This is the best male scent ever and you cannot convince me otherwise. I don't know how you'd possibly bottle that up but THAT scent.
Thanks for the interesting thread, though :beers:

Oh I went to that one last year (it also closed early on Sunday last year - I think because high winds that were coming in that they were afraid might take up tents). I will probably go again next year; I seem to do well enough there and it's fairly comfy.
I'm debating whether I want to do another show in October. I was invited to one in the same place (run by different people), and another more south (closer to MA).
I do think I did well; I'm pretty happy with the selection I brought and people's reactions to the art and what I sold :partyblob_dance:

It was actually alright in the morning! (I was very grumpy and had to be coerced with an energy drink and hugs but I went and sold some things and talked to some very nice people 🎉) It started raining in the afternoon - mostly a cold constant spray, but it was gathering on the tents and no one was coming by and all the vendors were miserable - I think they just waited until the last performers finished their set to tell us all that we could go home lol. (Kudos to those guys too - someone was belting out "White Wedding" in the rain and did a great job. I was singing and dancing with it of course :doge_dance_cool:). I keep falling back asleep today though. It'll probably take me a little while to recover :colorcat:
Anyway it was worth going despite the trouble. Thanks for asking, grumbles :blobheartcat:

LADIES OF FEDI (all uhhhhh three of you (OH maybe some spinsterfriends?)): I have a VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION. TLDR: about hair
:smug_cat:
STORYTIME - I used to think I had straight hair because my mother has very straight hair and I always kept it as long as it would grow (never "cut," only trimmed). HOWEVER, in recent years I have cut it to the shortest it's ever been (which is still long for some people.... maybe bottom of my shoulderblades?) and I have BANGS again, and I have learned that I actually inherited my father's wavy hair. BECAUSE MY BANGS KEEP FLIPPING ALL OVER THE PLACE. THE OTHER DAY IT LOOKED LIKE A GIANT MUSTACHE ON MY HEAD :blobcatohnoes: But the rest of my hair is still long enough that it doesn't show the "wave"
SO
The question I pose to you: do I cut my hair more to see the wave? I LOVE long hair and I didn't even cut it to this (still "long" ish) length for... look I'm not telling you my age, you can guess :blobglare: but the point is I'm nervous and WHAT IF IT LOOKS HORRIBLE :blobcat_sad: Maybe I should cut it in increments? I just want to see if it would look nice with the waaaave (and maybe make my bangs look not as silly) AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Help me ladies, I never thought I had wavy hair and have no idea how to make it look even more rad (or at least not silly) on me :blob_cool:
Thank you for reading my TED talk, pls send help :crackCat2:
