I agree with all of these, except the global menu bars. I think these made sense originally, on the 9" screen of the original Macintosh, but I have 3 x 24" monitors. If I have a little window on the right hand monitor and the menu for it is top left on the left, the menu is ~60 inches away. I have my middle monitor as the default/main one, so a global menu would appear on there. I understand the Fitts law arguments, but I don't think they hold in the same way on multiple monitors.

Just read https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cvgvywyev1do - UK introducing subsidies for buying new electric cars.
Wrong approach, as ever. Don't use taxpayer money to subsidise people who can afford new cars. The subsidy just goes into the pockets of car companies.
Instead, do it the other way around - as Norway did - increase the taxes/tariffs on combustion engine cars. Zero emissions = zero tariffs/taxes. Use that money to build out public EV charging, fund the National Grid, etc... #ev #electricity #ukpol

Scottish Government officials have decided to ignore the public and experts, and grant permission to Flamingo Land to build their mega-resort at Loch Lomond.
