Why telling an indie dev to "make a different/better game" as a business advice meets with such strong resistance, sometimes even animosity?
Do y'all really just want to make ONE SPECIFIC GAME and nothing else?
I understand that it might be disrespectful of someone's effort when put in the way I did it in the first sentence...
But this is by far the BEST way for us indie devs to get visibility (and sales). Some games just look more interesting and shareworthy than others.

So now that Linux has overtaken macOS (thank you Apple for helping by destroying 💥 the Mac gaming ecosystem) in the percentage share of the Steam market...
The next step for Linux gaming is something like 20-30% of the Steam market share.

I like how the current state of the indie game market evokes such strong contrasting opinions. On one hand you have terms such as "the golden age" and on the other claims that making indie games is not a viable way to make a living. ‼️
And both takes are correct, in a way. 🤯
