True, but Bluesky the company knew that, and Attie — the "AI feed composer" in question — is a separate app, to not piss off Blueskyans. Also, it's not really AI, apparently, but more of an algorithm, which led someone to a hypothesis that the whole ruse was to satisfy (mostly crypto) investors. I'm still rather observing it, so we'll see, but BS devs started vibe-coding Bluesky, so this can take a sudden turn any time now.

Polish language has a couple of attempts here. One is "enszitifikacja," which is a straight cliche. The other one is "gównowacenie," which is a transaltion. But the best one is "gównia pochyła," which is a play on words with "równia pochyła" (slippery slope), where "slope" is tranformed into "shit." The rationale is that once you're on it, you just roll down, and there's no going back.
(I also saw "rozpierdoszana," but I don't even know how to explain it. :D)

Last week, I read that Wikipedia is finalising a deal with AI companies, and my initial reaction was: there goes my monthly donation to them; but this week, I read a little more on the subject, and I realised that the situation is tough, and Wikipedia could take up a fight with an opponent with far more resources on their hand, or they could minimise their daily damage.

I don't really like stand-up comedy and I don't watch it, but sometimes I get to see a short bit, oftentimes as a preview on Netflix, and every time it happens, I like to imagine that I am doing a stand-up somewhere. In December, I was freestyling stuff during the company event, and at some point I told to my colleagues, "I could easily do stand-up," such good my flow was; and they agreed, my colleagues, I mean.

"The Serpent Rouge" is 90% not my kind of thing but playing as a plague doctor is my soft spot and it was only 2 euros now. What @npub1e9x…msz2 made me realise is I don't have to finish every game I start. I might just dip my toes and see what's what. And that's okay.

(Why scrollbar is needed: because of accessibility. I don't think I'll find it now, but I read a thread a while back on it.)
Content-wise, 80% of people use mobile devices to access content, so you need a single column look in place anyway, and I always find it distracting. When you're in the article, that's the only thing you should see. But I'm a radical in this minimalism.

"No Country For Old Men" introduced me to Cormac McCarthy, although the Polish translation completely disregarded his visual style (dialogues merged with narration, treatment of commas, etc.), which was a subpar experience. Later books were better in that regard.

I love the rewind functionality in DSDA Doom. All those monster lockers don't piss me off any more. Neither small errors of judgement. Instead of saving between fights, which I often forget, I just rewind. And exploration is less endangering for the level's progress. It's like Doom but with time-travel.

I decided to try DSDA Doom, which is getting whole lot of recommendations, and my, oh my, isn't it smooth experience. There's only a handful of settings, but I got all like I wanted. My favourite new thing (kind of, it was in PrBoom+) is the crosshair locking on a target, which allows me to see who am I shooting. It's also helpful in the darkness. I will miss some of Doom Retro climatic improvements, though.

Someone made a Doom map that has 90,000 monsters (for comparison, nuts.wad is *only* 10,000). It's called "Oversaturation." I started watching a playthrough, which is 6-hour long, and I was even planning to split it into 1-hour chunks, like a series, but then I saw that it's only part 1 of I don't know how many. So I abandoned it. That's just too much. But man, 90K. That's a small town. Quite impressive.

I played "Odyssey of Noises," map 29 from "The Plutonia Experiment," yesterday. I must have played it many years ago for the last time, so I was curious about how the vague memory holds. Turns out I had something bigger in mind. While the map grew with me in my memory, it shrank in comparison to modern mapping. It also had surprisingly monotonic texturing. But the gameplay holds. In the beginning, I had to stay off the streets. It got better once I had gathered my arsenal.

I played "Liminal Doom 2," and got to an exit, but it seemed still a lot to do, so I decided to quick-save, go to the exit (to make sure), and then load again. But I had `autosave` on, and it overwrote my save. 😭
Now I have to play it again, but I am too pissed off, so I guess it'll wait a couple of weeks or something.
BTW there are some tight running sections which suck with gamepad. Also, WTF is this tight situation with Cyberdemon in map 2? I god-moded it.

I'm playing "Back to Saturn X" (called "BTSX" as an official mod) and for the first time ever, I am enamored with the soundtrack. Some tracks heavily remind me of 80s gritty science-fiction movies, which goes very well with these rusty textures. *chef's kiss* I even found Jimmy Paddock's Bandcamp and listening to it as I type these words here.

I was reading about "Legacy of Rust," the new official Doom episode, and someone complained about one level being almost unbeatable pistol-start on Ultra-Violence. To which someone else quoted one of the Cassali brothers, who were behind "The Plutonia Experiment," that he wouldn't respect a person who "chooses a higher difficulty level and then complains that it's too difficult." You chose it that hard. Thus, UV is the new Souls-like. You'll die a couple of times before succeeding.

After two decades with (G)ZDoom and over a decade with Doom Retro, I got used to non-infinitely-tall monsters, so KEXDoom reverting to the traditional approach is something I need to get accustomed to. On the bright sight, I can chainsaw them at ledges. Plus, which apparently is Boom-related, monsters can fall of the ledge and something that was meant to be a turret is now chasing me. :D
Also, saving and loading makes monsters lose their intention, so I save only between rooms/actions.
