No..I am in multiple channels. Including both Meme Logistics and Debugging Memes. I had just assumed that these, being run by the same-ish team would share the same perspective on certain issues.

I do find it funny that you find my disgruntled mood about the timing of this with the policy to be a "crazy conspiracy theory".
I'm not often one for a tinfoil hat, more so just bemused by the movements of trends through both the industry and the general software community.

So excuse me for being a little miffed about the continued acceptance of *checks notes* corporate comodification of all human knowledge at the expense of *checks notes* the environment, education, and several industries.
However, its fair to point out that the debugging memes channel isn't necisarilly lefty, though it seems to mostly lean that direction.

I didn't think my post warranted quite *that* much snark, but fair enough.
And yeah, your channel shared the Torvalds quote about AI being just a tool and how the kernel isn't going to restrict tools, with the 100 emoji showing solidarity with it.
Following shortly was a trail tracking meme implying that AI free repos are woefully unproductive.

So do you always assume "the environment" is talking about tech and not, y'know, climate change?
Or have you found my post on a particularly brickly day of being dense?

Not thrilled that a memes channel on #DeltaChat that has, up until now, been very lefty and antifascist, suddenly has started trickling in some pro-AI or AI-neutral memes.
All shortly after the DC project puts up a wishy washy policy around LLM usage that seems to allow it with some set dressing to sound human oriented.
Like yeah, sure, it's just a tool. I'm sure the environment will feel just the same in another 10 years.

SO! Fun fact that I remembered the other day:
One of the older ladies in one of those "bible fellowships" I grew up around told my family, shortly after Jan6 happened, that God told her to go down to the capital right before it happened.
Yes that's right, someone proclaimed that God himself told some older conservative lady in fucking Michigan to go and be present for (presumably) his holy Trumpness' doings.

I can't overstate how much WebXDC apps are a killer feature for DeltaChat and other chatmail messengers.
No extra accounts, no ability to phone home, and incredible usability and flexibility.
My GF and I have shared shopping and TODO lists that sync automatically.
My D&D group has a LITERAL WIKI for shared notes, rules, quests, etc.
File sharing, event coordination, games, documents, spreadsheets, emulators, image albums, etc etc etc.
Simplify your tech, get DeltaChat.

My group right now has 9 games we want to try out specifically *because* we find their mechanics interesting. Not 9 worlds, or canned campaigns, 9 game systems.
Now I'm not saying that writing systems is how you make lots of money, but there is an audience for it. Namely, those who prefer homebrew worlds and campaigns and are looking for new canvases to paint them on.
If we presume that all such endeavors are nought, we wouldn't have anyone to buy our canvasses from :P

I'm worried about old tech *also* becoming infested with AI too unfortunately. It seems like a lot of software or products that I had trusted to be a little better have given in.
* BeagleBoard
* OnlyOffice
* DuckDuckGo
* Startpage
* Gitlab
* Mozilla
* Phillips (mostly their razors, which have AI marketing now despite that not making any sense)
* Even fucking Encyclopedia Britannica has a chatbot on their website...WHY

Not having HTML and text versions of digitally distributed RPGs is a poor choice IMO. For accessibility first, but also for usability.
