Every people should celebrate their own achievements. White culture is celebrated in white countries just like indian culture is celebrated in india or chinese culture is celebrated in china. Yet there's never a complaint towards the indians, "you've been celebrating yourselves like beating a dead horse for 5000 years bro, stop, it's getting old", it's only towards whites, in their own nations. I mean that's how it should be in any country. If you have a foundational document outlining the ethos of the country, it should be something people hold in the highest esteem and demand adherence to within their borders. It's the reason to have a constitution in the first place.
If that's not done then the country eventually becomes full of people who don't care about it at all and would rather run the country in a way completely contrarian to the ideas it was founded on, both locals and outsiders. Which is what happened to the USA and why it's such a disaster now. There were no crusades against peaceful pagans. The northern crusade was a response to viking sacking of Christian monasteries (and scandinavia converted because some of their own kings decided to do so, not by extermination at the hands of catholic warriors). The eastern european crusades were a war for land on both sides, which ended in a Polish-Lithuanian victory (and they ended up deciding to convert by themselves after winning). To me there's no practical difference between "our holy book says explicitly that this is true so we murder and pillage" and "our holy book doesn't explicitly say not to murder and pillage so we murder and pillage", if a nation goes raider/pirate/invader, it has to be fought.
Modern Catholicism strictly forbids converting and evangelizing by the sword, so this is a non-issue when it comes to my guys. The furthest that a Catholic ruler is allowed to go in this regard is "you won't convert so please leave our country". Not sure if Orthodoxy has a similar dogmatic rule or not. Plenty of Protestant churches have weird prophetic interpretations to justify wars, but then again other branches of Christianity have been in different degrees of conflict with them from "we don't like eachother" to "actively exterminating eachother" for over 500 years. Islam expressly demands conquest and the extermination of infidels, so waging war against them as self defense is something I'm fine with.

Genuinely curious why you dislike it. Branding criminals gets all the benefits with very few of the drawbacks. Unlike hanging or cutting hands, the criminal doesn't get any disabling injuries that would prevent working or doing anything else, and it doesn't require massive investments in money and manpower paid by the victims like it is the case with prisons; however with the brand everyone around can know what the criminal did and keep themselves safe, and it's also painful enough to teach a lesson.
It's an almost perfect solution for any crime that isn't horrible enough to merit execution.

At least buy a gas gun and a few thousand pellets and fuck around in your yard, I do that to save on money and have fun since it's significantly cheaper than 9mm or the ever evasive 7.65mm mauser. Got a 7.62 nato can full of ammo for the co2 guns, it's like 6k shots.
Obviously you still have to practice with your carry gun, but it's good enough to get used to spatial awareness and target acquisition
