Sure it is. There are multiple future uses. For example: Imagine a future where you can instantly donate money to charities where you *know* it 100% goes where you want to. Or maybe to directly support creators you like. All money goes directly to them, no cuts for intermediaries. Or you just want to send some money to your friends or family directly as well. As far as I know it's the same principle as with "premium accounts". For example Linkedin; you can have premium features on iOS even if you bought premium on Linkedin website or somewhere else. The same applies with the wallet. It's fine to send sats to your Primal wallet as long as there is an option to buy them through Apple IAP *and* there is no mentioning in the app about being able to do it outside. Like in Spotify for example.

You can look at it that way for sure. Or you can look at it as an important stepping stone to open the gates for regular users to join us. This makes it incredibly easy for everyone to join the decentrilized censorship resistant community (both Nostr and crypto). And once the gates are so wide open and easy to walk through then we can slowly educate more and more people about this issue.

It's because of Apple bullshit. We on Primal had to do the same thing to appease Tim Apple.
There's a requirement to give users an option to delete their accounts if you're working on a social network app.
It adds a simple "deleted: true" prop to your Metadata Nostr object and it's being checked on login.
Of course nothing stops you to just remove that prop and publish new Metadata Nostr object to your select relays. 🤷‍♂️

You can just plop these tanks where it's needed and move them around. And they occupy a smaller space than an equivalent tree would. Agreed. This was made in Belgrade, Serbia where the air pollution is highest in Europe (due to corruption and) plain unwillingness of average citizens to even understand the issue to press on officials to do something about it.
A bunch of trees were cut down years ago (due to corrupt officials obviously) to make room for more and more concrete city squares and widening of roads for more cars. So instead of moving towards livable cities for humans (like in Netherlands) we're going backwards.
Nothing new for the shittiest country in Europe I guess...

The amount of misinformation/disinformation in comments under this post is staggering and ridiculous. These were *never* meant to be a *replacement* for trees, nor were they designed to replace trees.

Content moderation is implemented by filtering the feed with mute lists as defined in NIP-51. You can subscribe to other people's lists as well.
As for filtering by hashtags, you can do a query search (#hashtag OR #another_hashtag OR ...) and save it as a feed.

It's not. Mainly because its GC-ed. But the biggest advantage is its dynamic nature. And what helped us the most (during active explorational development) is live reload of the server modules/functions. There is already a closed loop between Stackoverflow and AI and both are dying slowly. Stackoverflow from lack of users and good moderation and AI (specialized in programming help) due to all the inbreeding data it gets fed. Pool of answers (data to feed the AI) made by humans is still a necessity and will be for some time methinks.
