With his net worth reaching ~$1T, Elon Musk's now worth more than all of the houses in 7 US states combined, per Zillow estimates:
Alaska + the Dakotas + Vermont, West Virginia, Wyoming, and Delaware.
Enough to buy every home in states with 14 Senate seats and have money left over.*

Grassley warned last year in a floor speech - before the Iran war and the subsequent diesel and fertilizer price shock - that U.S. could see a wave of farmer suicides not seen since the 1980s.

Schumer acknowledged to reporters he was involved in negotiations with Thune on the CR, and specifically the provision entitling senators to millions in compensation. 1/

The fight tonight was over about $25 billion. Thats about 2.5% of the Defense budget. Would cover a year of the enhanced ACA credits. Republicans said that’s unaffordable.

On X, Marjorie Taylor Greene calls for changing the Essential Health Benefits part of the Affordable Care Act, deleting requirements to cover maternity, pregnancy, mental illness and children etc

I think people have yet to wake up to just how amazing e-bikes are. I commute about 20 miles a day, using about 10 cents of electricity. (Mostly on safe trails.)
Every time I ride my brain is ecstatic. I get a workout, but don’t need to shower when I get to work.

RON JOHNSON says Trump and Senate leaders agreed to back Rick Scott's amendment to phase out the 90% Medicaid match for expansion population under the ACA.
"We can't afford it," said Johnson, expressing confidence they can get the votes.
Guts part of Obamacare...

HIGH DRAMA IN THE SENATE.
There are 50 no votes on proceeding to reconciliation. Murkowski, Rick Scott, Mike Lee have not voted. One more no vote stalls the bill.
Collins voted aye.
Tillis, Ron Johnson and Rand Paul have voted no.

I don't think anybody's quite gotten to the full Mike Lee story. He rarely talks in hallways, now posts conspiratorial stuff regularly, went from 2016 warning against Trump to working with members of his team ahead of 1/6/21.
Lately a cheerleader for nixing NATO, Fed, impeaching judges, etc.

The big crypto markup is still going on in the House Financial Services Committee. Rs are blocking any effort to block Trump from profiting off of crypto while in office.

Kind of an elaborate thing to give Trump a plane when you can just deposit a couple billion in his family stablecoin like that UAE company did.

One of the billionaire-owned companies spending money to repeal the estate tax: William Goldring’s Sazerac Company Inc., which owns hundreds of brands including Southern Comfort. Goldring has an estimated net worth of $3.9 billion. At a top 40% tax rate, his heirs could potentially save a billion.

NEW from me: Hundreds of groups and some of America's richest families are backing a push by top Republicans to repeal the estate tax. BUT they face a surprising foe: A lobby for their financial advisers. FREE GIFT LINK: #giftlink

It would take about 30 Congressional Republicans to fully bolt from Trump to upend Washington and check the president's power.
We are at about 2-6 on any given day.

The Senate is about to go on a multi-week recess with the markets plunging by the most since COVID.
