reminds me of that time we were playing innocently on a lightly modded smp with some friends, and one of the furnitures mods had a very simple bloc: a stump on which you can sit, that's it
but it could be pushed by a piston
instead of just using it for decoration, likemost would, we designed an instant block conveyor and tried to send a player along it
building that on smp would have been incredibly expensive but you could have reached speeds higher than all other methods of transport, except tp

ok so when i am trying to insert into a buffer that is already full (or to remove from one that is already empty), should set errno to ENOSPC, ENOMEM or ENOBUFS ? i have seen all three being used and i'm unsure which one is the most correct
i mean ENOSPC explicitly states "No space left on device", but i'm unsure what device means here, and ENOMEM just says "Not enough space" which ? may you be a little more descriptive ?
i'm tempted to go with ENOBUFS ("No buffer space available"), but i wonder if there is a consensus here

here's a secret: you build the framework and abstractions on top of cgi, or fcgi, or embedded http server
all php frameworks run on top of fcgi, cgit and bugzilla are both on cgi, and have their own extra abstractions, though bugzilla also has the perl cgi module in between
cgi itself is just a way to dispatch request information

i see "when a request comes in, this program gets started with these environment variables, and instantly start handling stuff" to be significantly more high level andeasier to work with than the fcgi "i need to daemonise, open a socket, and wait for events http server sends me, parsing them, then doing stuff".
cgi, fcgi, embedded htp server, are all ways of handling requests, one system allowing insecure usage doesn't make it "badly designed" as luna put it

cgi doesn't add custom code based on request, it just runs predetermined commands, which you should have written properly, and should have sanitised data properly
