I often just recommend people in town buy tickets to the hop on hop off busses. they're really good for this sort of thing. but holidays are rough and they get expensive fast with families

Caltrain to my part of town is hard! in past it’d been easy to get the 31 from station and transfer to 28, but they cut the 31 route in the most recent round of cuts and now it doesn’t go past market

from NPR this morning (on radio):
official guidance from the state is to have mailed your vote by mail ballot by wednesday last week due to recent changes in postmark policy for elections snd slowdowns at usps.
if you haven’t mailed your ballot yet:
- go to post office and have them postmark it in front of you
- drop it off in an official ballot drop box
- turn in your ballot tomorrow at polling location and vote in person instead

I feel like in my 20s I assumed I'd be able to google kind of arcane shit forever (eg did us girls play with old time relijun at as220) because of how The Internet was, and didn't bother trying to preserve that knowledge, and wow what a blip in history that (misplaced!) belief represented
