Today is a Catholic holiday in Croatia (Velika Gospa) & Italy (Feragosto) .
For me, this is interesting mostly for the abstinence of *work* & transformation from labor / political holiday into religious holiday :
Either Roman emperors granted this free day to their slaves, or: “Emperor Augustus made 1.8. a day of rest after weeks of hard work in the agricultural sector” & later it was moved to a Christian holiday: Assumption of Mary.

Wonderful service by city of #Amsterdam : being able to borrow #electric #cargo #bike in order to bring big things to #recycling place - for free!& #FossilFree ! It would be horrible if someone would use it to pick up #winter clothes from the #storage or by more #plants in two #GardenCenter (s). In my defense, I became a living advertisement for the service that is not well known : strangers enquired about it & I promoted it well! It was an adventure: bike is HUGE & difficulty to steer (for me)
