That's interesting. Here's the primary source I use in #Chicago. https://2026retention.injusticewatch.org/

I'd assume this would just be appealed to the supreme court who universally rules in favor of corruption. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snyder_v._United_States
The whole point of their political project is solidifying a two tiered society where favored individuals cannot be prosecuted for any crime such as an insurrection but unfavored individuals are punished for the most trivial offense like printing a magazine. Hell Donald even pardoned Blago!

I didn't realize this is what Chicago.org was. I'll have to re check it out. Neighborhood discussion was the last thing I was on FB for but I was harassed out by fascists and racists several years ago now.

The weirdest thing is that your insurance wants them to bill 20k instead of 500 because 20% of 20k is bigger than 20% of 500. https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2018/05/25/613685732/why-your-health-insurer-doesnt-care-about-your-big-bills

I'm glad you're having fun but I don't have a use for your app. There's a lot going on at once. It's not totally useless but way less exciting than other recent technology breakthroughs. New programmers in the field are losing their experience to become dependent on proprietary technology that is stealing an unknown amount of content and that can be adjusted at the whims of a few big AI corporations.

The companies are obviously lying about AI. It's a scam. If LLM was so good at writing code how come there is no new amazing apps? How come the apps I already was using where I know AI is involved have gotten worse? It doesn't even seem like they are interested in using it at things it would be good at like moderating hate speech and astroturfing.

Schumer and Jeffries. Please explain to me how it's okay that Hakeem Jeffries and Mike Johnson share AIPAC and Lockheed Martin as top donors in the 2024 cycle. https://www.opensecrets.org/profiles/hakeem-jeffries/us_congress/summary?mpid=1050304&cycle=2024&display=candidate

I supported Harris strongly during her campaign. I have only been critical of her since she lost the election. The way she lost was even disappointing - disappearing for many days and conceding immediately despite many admissions and evidence of fraudulent behavior by the Republican party starting when Donald lost in 2020. The parties actions since then have been even more frustrating seemingly doubling down on their losing strategies and keeping obviously corrupt leadership.

I voted, donated, and made phone calls for her but let's not forget during her only debate she repeatedly brought up her support of fracking, she refused to take a more humane approach to Gaza than Biden, she made war mongering statements, and she campaigned with the Cheney war criminals. I was very optimistic about her when she was anointed but she ran the worst Democratic presidential campaign in a very long time. The way she disenfranchised the Democratic base was obscene.

I'd be so jealous if the billionaires left us behind to move to Mars. If they did that then we'd all really admire them and respect them until the end of time.

Exactly. I'd have no problem with AI taking everyone's job if the people pushing it also lobby the government to provide universal housing, healthcare, basic income, and public transportation to ease the burden. However they have actually lobbied for the opposite result so fuck them.

I agree let's try to get these people back on board but I cannot understand why Democrats constantly tarnish their reputation with non voters. There are more non voters than Republican voters switching sides. Jeffries, Schumer, and their collaborators are intentionally sabotaging the party so they can keep collecting corrupt bribes and everyone is sick of it.

This weekend in #Chicago I had a game night with neighborhood friends. I celebrated a local Mexican American family and their new mural with my alderwoman and our neighbors. I rode the amazing CTA catching a glimpse of dozens of closed street celebrations on my way to my favorite Korean restaurant and a lifelong friend's block party. I stumbled upon a free dance party in Chicago park district in the fastest growing Chinatown in the country. They only hate us cause they ain't us.

We failed reconstruction and we have consistently failed to hold Confederate descendents accountable. They have slowly gained power through propaganda. At this point we are living in a modern Confederacy rather than the United States won by the Union in the civil war. The orange felon's plans to deploy troops from Confederate States against Chicago and DC is the final kicker of how bad we've lost. Many of us have been aware and tried to course correct but have been sabotaged.

I know it feels terrible right now but things are also changing for the better. I wish we were making more progress quicker but I hope we're experiencing gasping breaths of the dying fossil fuel industry. Don't give up advocating where you live. Similar to Paris we've seen massive increases of cycling in Chicago over the past five years and many residents are highly engaged and involved. https://blockclubchicago.org/2024/05/16/chicagoans-doubled-bike-trips-in-last-5-years-south-side-neighborhoods-saw-some-of-the-biggest-increases/

Obscene that people who bought environmentally friendly cars are a target of harassment over this terrible government. Reminder that fossil fuel companies are the real enemy and have been corrupting the government since before this idiot left the womb. If you're not walking, biking, or using transit you are part of the problem. Stop spreading oil and gas propaganda.
