I am a woman of the American South. I love deep green overhangs and humid-filled nights. But in 2019 when I went to Mackinac Island, I fell in love with Lake Huron. It spoke to my heart in a way that makes no sense. Every time one of y'all posts a picture of the Great Lakes, I want to go back. So bad, I want to go back.

Today, I went to a less esthetically pleasing pool, but it's a standard 25 yards rather than the NOACC 20 yards. It's like stretching out after being cramped into a box. No kicking again-I"m still uncertain about my lower back. But I can swim the 25 yards in one breath with no kicking. Which I started so I wouldn't have to twist to breath (back concern again). But now it's become a fun breath exercise.

Day 3. Today I didn't use my legs at all. No kicking. Just on my back. Then a weird as hell American crawl without kicking. But I could do the length of the pool in one breath that half-assed way. So I was good with it.

So we're walking down the street after dinner at Vyonne and pass another couple, older than us, and the man gives us the thumbs up. The woman says, "Good looking couple." And my husband sys, "We're a hit with the over 80 crowd." Which I found so funny. Because it was true.

One of the many sins of DeSantis and FA Board of Education teaching slavery had benefits to those held in bondage is its ass-backwards view of history. Those kidnapped and forced into bondage BROUGHT THEIR SKILLS WITH THEM. The Big Lie is that slavery taught them how to farm, when more often they were teaching ignorant whites how to farm.
This lie insists Africans arrived in America ignorant bc then whites could justify "teaching" them through violence...for their own good
